2017 Cathedral Parish Eucharistic Adoration
Sunday 18th June Following the 10am Mass.
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament 12noon. We are looking for strong support across the
generations in the parish…. our parish families,
Catholic Schools, St Vincent de Paul, Catechists,
Legion, CWL, CWC, menAlive, Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion, Servers,
Confirmandi, and their families, Young Catholic
Adults Group, Finance Council, Pastoral Council,
RCIA, Choir etc….
Prayer for Christian Unity Lord Jesus Christ, at your Last Supper you prayed
to the Father that all should be one. Send your
Holy Spirit upon all who bear your name and
seek to serve you.
Strengthen our faith in
you, and lead us to love
one another in humility.
May we who have been
reborn in one baptism be
united in one faith under
one Shepherd. Amen.
ROSARIES THIS WEEK: MON 29TH MAY, 12 noon Angelus
followed by the rosary prior to the 12.30pm Mass. TUE 30TH MAY in
the home of Wendy Nano, 1/13 Amber Close at 4pm. WED 31ST MAY,
12 noon Angelus followed by the rosary prior to the 12.30pm Mass for
Our Lady Help of Christians.
CONFIRMATION 2017 Lessons conclude this weekend. The
candidates will attend a retreat day, 9am –
3pm, in the Cathedral Precinct this
Thursday 1st June… there will be an
opportunity for reconciliation 3-3.30pm followed by a
rehearsal in the Cathedral 3.30pm – 4.30pm. The sacrament
will take place during the 10am Mass next weekend,
Pentecost Sunday, 4th June. For more information, please

END OF FINANCIAL YEAR…. PLANNED GIVING… as we are fast approaching the end of
the financial year, it is time to bring our planned giving up-to-date.
New envelope packs are now available in the Cathedral foyer in
alphabetical order. If you give yearly/half yearly/quarterly, your
envelopes are also in the Cathedral foyer. If you are new to the
Parish or would like to sign up for Stewardship, there are
Registration forms available in the foyer also. Any enquiries,
please contact the Parish Office, 6772 2218.
THE EXPERIENCES AND CHALLENGES OF FAMILIES The welfare of the family is decisive for the future of the
world and that of the Church. Countless studies have been
made of marriage and the family, their current problems and
challenges. We do well to focus on concrete realities,
since “the call and the demands of the Spirit resound in the
events of history”, and through these “the Church can also
be guided to a more profound understanding of the
inexhaustible mystery of marriage and the family”
(Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia no.31)
CATECHISTS TRAINING will be held this Wed 31st May
from 9am to 12noon in the Ursula Room. The training will be on Child Protection and Classroom Management, the two compulsory units of the CCD training. Please contact the Parish Office if you can attend as we need numbers for copying and for catering.
