The customer agrees: a. That the City has conducted an energy audit on the dwel ling located at the ab ove service address.  b. That the final d etermination of su itable solar expo sure, adequate roof support, and ro oftop mounting technique will be made by the installing solar contractor, in consultation with the customer. c. That the customer owns/rents this dwelling (circle one). *If rented, the p roperty owner wi ll be the rebat e applicant. d. To have solar eq uipment inst alled by a state l icensed solar or plumbing cont ractor, installing Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) Certified solar do mestic water heating System (n ot pool heating). FSEC System Certification number required on rebate application (your installer provides this number). e. Freeze-protected Indirect (closed lo op) solar equipment required. Open loo p drain-do wn installations will not  be approved for rebates. f. That the i nstalling con tractor must request appropri ate Growth Management permit (s) prior to installation, and have appropriate inspection(s) of the completed installation by City of Tallahassee or Leon County Building Inspection. 2. The City agrees: a. To provid e an en ergy audit and prelimin ary solar assessment, i f appropriate (1a above). b. To rebate $450 for the installation of qualifying solar water heating equipment, whether for first time installation, or for the replacement of an older solar water heating system.  Note: If current water heater is electric, the solar backup water heater can also be electric. If current water heat er is natural gas, th e solar backup water heater must be natural gas. c. Rebate checks w ill be d istributed to the applica nt or to the contractor (see #3 bel ow) after the finished installation has passed inspection by City or County Growth Management. 3. The customer und erstands that th e contract for sol ar equipment ins tallation is b etween the custo mer and the contracto r and that the City of Tall ahassee is not a party to that con tract. The City does not recommend , endorse or certify contractors, or warrant or otherwise guarantee their work. 4. ___ Check here for recommended procedure: Send the solar rebate $4 50 check to the cust omer . (Requires that the customer’s paid installer invoice or receipt be provided to the City.)  ___ Check here for direct payment to the installing contractor*. (Contractor bid shows rebate $450 amount subtracted from total) . *The customer understands that agreement to allow direct payment to the contractor does not change the status of the  parties but is agreed for the sole and exclusive purpose of expediting payment of sums due the contractor. 5. The customer understands that th e contractor express ly warrants all w ork completed to be of good w orkmanship and to conform to the City’s sp ecifications. The customer agrees to release and ho ld the City harmless from any claims o f any kind or nature arising either wholly or in part from contractor negligence or intentional acts or omissions while  performing the project, or from any acts of the energy auditor, inspectors, or the City of Tallahassee. 6. The customer understands that fai lure to complet e the installation within ninet y (90) days may result in the r eassignment of program funds to another customer. will be made by the installing solar contractor, in consultation with the customer.c. That the customer owns/rents this dwelling (circle one). *If rented, the property owner will be the rebate

applicant.d. To have solar equipment installed by a state licensed solar or plumbing contractor, installing Florida Solar 

Energy Center (FSEC) Certified solar domestic water heating System (not pool heating). FSEC SystemCertification number required on rebate application (your installer provides this number).e. Freeze-protected Indirect (closed loop) solar equipment required. Open loop drain-down installations will not

 be approved for rebates.f. That the installing contractor must request appropriate Growth Management permit(s) prior to installation, and

have appropriate inspection(s) of the completed installation by City of Tallahassee or Leon County BuildingInspection.
