Finally, the integration with the Sales ForceAutomation tools allows a smooth and continuous lead management by suppor-ting collaboration between the marketing and sales area.

Configuration and Automation.

RuleDesigner Configurator is a cross-sectional tool aimed at automating opera tions along corporate processes. It can be applied in the technical area to auto-mate the CAD design phase generating assemblies, drawings, BOMs, processingcycles, technical documents and xml/ html contents. Moreover, it can be used in the sales area for configuring products variants and automatically getting real time quotations or descriptive offers. Finally, in the process automation area RuleDesi-

Product Structure

The product card is a repository, structured into modules or sub-products, in which users can store and connect cross-sectional information including documents, customers, tickets and PDM part numbers. The product is the fundamental entity of the PLM process and is one of the gateways to the world of relationships. Any product sold to a customer has a particular sta-tic configuration. By liking the product serial number to the customer, it is possible to track information and get several benefits. As a matter of fact, in the after-sales framework, it enables to give a customized access on the basis of the product purchased with timely and useful information for each customer. Technical documents, manuals, certifications, technical files related to the product are immediately available to the client for consultation. Portal for Spare-parts and Accessories

In regard to spare-parts, RuleDesigner offers specific, integrated solu-tions aimed at generating spare parts catalogues and publishing those catalogues on the web. This enable both the catalogues interactive on-line consultation and commerce transactions between businesses (B2B). Finally, the spare parts portal offers external users the possibilityof visually browsing the product structure online and submitting a pur-chasing orders for spare parts needed.

PDM

The product data manager offers powerful tools for configuring rules and approval workflows. On one side, it is provided with different integrations with 2D and 3D CAD software. In fact, RuleDesigner PDM is recommended even in multi-cad environments as it offers companies the opportunities to migrate from one cad to another without losing consolidated PDM processes. Whenever an offer has been accepted, new job orders can start automatical-ly with notifications to the resources involved.

Technical Documents Generation

RuleDesigner provides support in creating and disseminating technical handbooks and complex documents through an auto-matic rule-based composer. RuleDesigner accelerates and op timizes document creation since the planning phases allowing users to use existing contents to create documents such as technical handbooks, set up and user guides. Furthermore, document creation functionalities can be even integrated with document management tools, getting the higher added-value from the connection of the document created to product cards,project phases, companies’ panels or to PDM part numbers. Business Process Automation
