Sunshine on a Ranney Day is a leading non-profit that does room and home makeovers for children with long-term illness. Founded in 2012 by Holly and Peter Ranney, Sunshine on a Ranney Day has aggressively helped change children’s lives by giving them wheelchair accessible bathrooms, wheelchair ramps, professionally designed dream bedrooms, custom storage for medical equipment and much more. Our philosophy is “Go BIG or Go Home.” With the help of partnerships, generous donations, and volunteers, Sunshine on a Ranney Day will continue to help change children’s lives.

“ We are Sunshine on

a Ranney Day. And we don’t just make rooms. We make room for hope.”

Briana was a vibrant 4 year old leaving an Atlanta Falcons game with her mom when their car was struck in a terrible accident. Briana was told she may never walk again. Sunshine on a Ranney Day renovated the family garage into a bedroom and wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main level of their home, so that Briana could continue her progress in her own space.

“ We make rooms that make parents feel like they’re not alone. They know that “this is where my child is going to get better and everything will be OK.”

It was the one phone call that changed the lives of the Halsteads. While at daycare, then 2 year old Tripp suffered a massive brain injury when a tree limb fell on his head. Sunshine on a Ranney Day gutted and completely renovated their two story home for wheelchair accessibility so Tripp can continue to recover. The charity added wheelchair accessible bathrooms, a stair-lift, therapy room and even a therapy swimming pool!

Sunshine on a Ranney Day is 99% volunteer based. We are able to do what we do because of people like you... People who care enough to lend a hand, wear a tee-shirt, or write a check to help us create these dream rooms and make life better for these children and their families. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit.
