TEXT 4 Organic food is really beneficial, especially for its consumers. This is true for several reasons. The nutritional value of food is largerly a function of its vitamin and mineral content. In this regard, organically grown food is dramatically superior in mineral content to that grown by modern conventional methods. Healthy plants mean heathy people, and better nourished plants provide better nourishment to people and animals alike. A major benefit to consumers of organic food is that it is free of contamination with health harming chemicals such as pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. As you would expect of populations fed on chemically grown foods, there has been a profound upward trend in the incidence of diseases associated with exposure to toxic chemicals in industrialized societies. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that organically grown food tastes better than that conventionally grown. The tastiness of fruit and vegetables is directly related to its sugar content, which in turn is a function of the quality of nutrition that the plants itself has enjoyed. Organically grown plants are nourished naturally, rendering the structural and metabolic integrity of their cellular stucture superior to those conventionally grown. As a result, organically grown foods can be stored longer and do not show the latter’s susceptibility to rapid mold and rotting. Considering the advantages mentioned, it is true that organic food is really beneficial.

14. Why can organic food be more sustainable? Because ...

A. Its natural nutrition gives its cellular structure superior.

B. It doesn’t show the superiority of its cellular structure

C. Originally grown food can be stored in short time.

D. It is susceptible to rapid mold and rotting. E. It is not naturally nourished.

food is worse than organically one. C. Modern conventional grown food can be

stored much longer than organically one. D. There are two reasons why organic food is

considered beneficial for its consumers. E. fruit with conventional grown methods

tastiness is directly related to its sugar content.

16. What is the main idea of paragraph three?

A. Organic food is contaminated with health harming chemicals.

B. Industrialized societies don’t need to consume organic food more.

C. organic food has major benefit of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides.

D. health harming chemicals contamination is the major benefit of organic food.

E. the consumers of organic food will not be contaminated with health harming chemicals.
