SnapFish

• SnapFish is a photo sharing social media website that allows users to upload photos, organise them in albums and share them with others.

• It is created by Hewlett-Packard and such has a large focus on selling products created with your photos (more on this later)

• So lets check out some of its features

SnapFish Home Page

Logging into SnapFish will bring you to a screen like the one pictured below. From here you can see your recently created album and can easily access all of SnapFish's other features.

Photo Upload

Clicking on Upload photos will bring you to a screen similar to the one below. Photos can be uploaded from your computer, Facebook and Flickr. Before chosing your photos for upload you will be asked to either create a new album or chose an existing album for the photos to uploaded to.

Photo Editor

The photo editor allows you to to do the usual editing like cropping, rotating, fixing redeye and resizing. It also lets you add a border around your photos and apply various colour tinges. Photos can then be saved either to replace the orginals or as seperate photos.

Photo Sharing

SnapFish allows you to share Albums with others either via email, through popular social media sites or with a direct link. You cannot share single photos only whole albums. Your can set your preferences to auto share whenever you upload new photos. Be aware though that once you share an album other people are able to order prints of the photos you have shared. This may or may not be a good thing.

SnapFish Products

A large part of the site is their shop. Here you can order prints and create products with your photos. There is a large range of products available, calanders, Key ring;s, photo cards, mugs, flip and photo books, mouse pads, playing cards, posters, stickers and growth charts just to name a few. SnapFish makes it very easy and gives you lots of choices and options to customize your products.

SnapFish iPhone App

SnapFish has a very simple iPhone App that allows you to upload photos easily from your mobile phone. Photos will be automatically be uploaded into an album called Mobile Uploads. The name of the album can be changed in the settings. You can view your albums and your friends albums (those that have been shared with you by friends) and share them in the same manner as the pc version.You are also able order prints but cannot create any other products.

Conclusion

• SnapFish has a simple layout and is very easy to use and navigate. Even those of us who are not so technology savvy should have no problems using this.

• You receive a credit for 30 free prints when you create your SnapFish account.

• Creating products from your photos is easy and fun and they make very good gifts!
