CThese tools use compressed air and recyclable abra-

sive to quickly clean and etch metal, masonry, glass,and other durable surfaces.

Because these specialized systems automaticallyrecover and recycle the abrasive, they do not expose theoperator, or others in the area, to significant levels ofdust and abrasive and do not contaminate surroundingareas.

You select the abrasive size, abrasive flow rate, andblast pressure to create intricate works of art or justmake fast work of a rusted fender.

Consult your Clemco distributor for appropriateselection. Do not use silica sand or any abrasive thatcontains more than one percent free silica for abrasiveblasting.

By automatically recycling the abrasive, a closed-circuit blast system lets you blast for extended periodswithout stopping to refill.

These continuous automatic recycling systemsreduce the amount of abrasive to buy, eliminate sweep-ing and shoveling, and minimize abrasive disposalcosts.

Closed-circuit blasting does not interfere withpainting or other work in progress. It contains the abra-sive and dust to keep them from contaminating otherareas of the work site.

The Comet uses 47 cfm ofair at 80 psi, and cleans apath about 1-inch wide, at upto 36 inches per minute. Itworks best with fine meshglass bead or aluminumoxide.

The Super Comet pres-sure-blast system deliversan enclosed high-velocitystream of abrasive to thesurface being cleaned. Theclosed-circuit blast headfeatures a 3/16-inch nozzleand multiple brushes forcleaning inside and outsideangles, and uneven sur-faces. It cleans a path about1-inch wide up to 72 inchesper minute, consuming 45cfm when the nozzle is newand up to 70 cfm whenworn, at 80 psi. The system’s portablecart moves easily on

smooth, level surfaces. A 20-ft recovery hose lets theoperator reach most surfaceswith ease. The standard unitfeatures a tungsten carbidenozzle and 1/2-cubic foot,ASME-code blast machinewith adjustable meteringvalve. The system handlesmost common, non-metallic,recyclable, 60- to 280-meshblast media. Aggressivemedia, such as aluminumoxide, silicon carbide, andgarnet, subject the system torapid wear; order optionalboron nozzles and tubeinserts when using these

media. The Super Comet isnot designed to handle sand,slag, or metallic media suchas steel grit. The built-in storage hop-per holds recovered media toautomatically refill themachine when the operatorpauses and releases the con-trol handle. And the systemincludes an air filter/mois-ture separator, pressure regu-lator, and gauge. The inte-gral dust collector housescotton sateen tubes to trapdust and fines, and dropthem into a convenient slide-out tray for easy disposal.
