Introduction

The SC400 point level detection probe, along with the LV400 controller, are designed to control the level of a wide variety of materials, such as water, oils, corrosives, solids, powders, grains, etc. The SC400's sensing capability provides reliable point level indication in high-pressure tanks, as well as in extreme high/low temperature ranges.
The SC400 is a very compact switch, made with 316 S.S, and available in threaded, flanged or sanitary process connections. The LV400 controller is available with 24 VDC, 115 VAC or 220 VAC supply voltage, and a relay output.

1- Pre-Installation Checks: 1) Before installing the SC/400 probe and LV400 controller, check that the wire connections are correct and that the available power supply is compatible according to the label shown.
2) Confirm that the operating pressure and temperature of the process corresponds to the indicated specifications of the model to be installed.
2- Installation:
The SC400 level probe must be installed utilizing the type of connection provided. The tank must be free from turbulence or vortices throughout use. When tightening the sensor, only use the 316S.S. hexagon fitting to achieve a seal, do not twist with body of the sensor.Note: As achieving proper seal is very important for high pressures and explosion proof applications, care should be taken when tightening the connection. When installing the sensor either directly to the tank, or utilizing a “T” connection, make sure that that the rod extends beyond the inner wall of the tank so that internal build up or other debris does not interfere with sensor's performance. Care should also be taken when handling and installing sensors with coated rods. Any scratch can compromise the performance of the sensor.

Calibration
1) Fill up the thank until the medium touches the tip of the rod.
2) Adjust the set point of the electronic module that is contained within the enclosure. Turn the potentiometer clockwise until achieving the controlleris activated.
3) The red LED will light and the LV400 controller will be activated.
4) Turn the potentiometer clockwise two more points.
9
Maintenance
When cleaning the rod use a soft brush or any other similar object.
PROBES:
Care should be taken when handling and installing probes with coated rodsto avoid scratching them.Scratching the coating could interfere with the probe performance.
