SILVER CORD MINISTRIES
believe in Me won’t
have to stay any longer in the dark. John 12:46 (The Message) Jesus came to set us free from the burdens of life! He came to lift that burden from us and carry it for us!
Take My yoke upon
you and learn from
Me, for I am gentle
and humble in heart,
and you will find rest
for your souls.
Matthew 11:29 (NIV)
Why do I men-tion these things? Because we, as Christians, are Christ’s disciples and are com-manded to bring this Good News to every-
one!
The other day, I had someone ask me if it was worth it to minister to those who might not remember the next day that I had been there. My answer was an adamant “Yes!” If I can relieve their burdens for that moment, I have done it unto the
least of these.
Matthew 25:40
THE LEAST OF THESE... God’s Spirit is on me;
He’s chosen me to
preach the Message of
Good News to the
poor, Sent me to
announce pardon to
prisoners and recovery
of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened
and battered free, to
announce, “This is
God’s year to act!”
Luke 4:18-19 (The
Message)
Have you ever stopped to wonder what Jesus was saying when He announced His mission that His Father had sent Him to do? Believe me when I say that He wasn’t just sent to take care of physical needs! Yes, Jesus did heal many physical diseases. But, His main mission was to proclaim the Good News that He was sent to sacrifice Himself so that all humanity could experience God’s forgiveness! When Jesus said that He was sent to preach the Good News to the “poor,” He wasn’t necessarily speaking of
those without money. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said,
Blessed are the poor in spirit...If one is poor in spirit, this constitutes one who is destitute in riches in relationship to his spirit and one who is helpless or powerless to improve his spiritual situation on his own. Jesus came to give us a new spirit — the Holy Spirit — when we accept His gift of salvation! Jesus came to pardon all of us who were prisoners to sin.
But Scripture has
shown that all man-
kind are the prisoners
of sin, in order that the
promised blessing,
which depends on
faith in Jesus Christ,
may be given to those who believe. Galatians 3:22 (Weymouth Translation) Not only did Jesus physically give sight to the blind, He gives spiritual sight to those in spiritual dark-ness. I am Light that
has come into the
world, so that all who
