with him, that God would

comfort him in his grief.

In every visit that I made with Gene, he would always have a list a mile long, of things for which he wanted me to pray. Somehow, he believed that God heard my prayers and answered them, even though he never wanted to take that leap and claim Jesus as his

Messiah.

Gene passed away, suddenly, on April 29th. We won’t know, until we get to Heaven, if Gene prayed to receive the True Messiah into his life, in those last moments. We

can only hope.

Are you waiting until the “time is right” to share your faith in Christ? Or, are you waiting until the “time is right” to turn your life over to Christ? DON’T WAIT! IT MIGHT BE

TOO LATE!

I met this special man, several years ago. He intrigued me! He was very friendly, from the start! Gene did not hesitate to let me know that he was Jewish

but he, also, desired Pastoral visits. We talked about many subjects, including Judaism and Christian-ity. He attended Chapel when he could and even visited other Bible Studies. He wanted to learn more about the Christian faith and the Bible. He helped me with my Hebrew Language Studies, but I could never quite get the hang of that difficult

language!

Gene never married, but had a few loves of his life. He didn’t have any children, either, but his immediate family meant the world to him! He shared with me some of the joys and sorrows of individuals in his family. Being Homebound, in these last few years, he seemed to be very lonely. Although he could talk your ear off on the phone or in person, I don’t think he ever got enough visits to satisfy his loneliness. For many years, he had a cat that was his Companion. Some even have called “Bro– Cat” his “soulmate.” When Bro took sick, Gene would ask me to pray for Bro. Finally, the day came that Bro died. Gene was devastated! I prayed

these special folks, the Lord was tugging on their hearts, more and more. The Lord was leading them to leave their current ministry and begin ministering to the Homebound Elderly — fulltime! They approached us about affiliating with Silver Cord Ministries, becoming a Branch

Yes, that’s right! Silver Cord Ministries has begun in Kenya! Meet Pastor Samuel and Prisca Wafula. We have known them for about one year, now. They have been in the ministry for several years and part of that ministry was to be training pastors. Last year, they found our website and we began

our relationship. Pastor Samuel and Prisca began visiting the Homebound Elderly in their community and were surprised and appalled at what they saw! They found the Elderly of Kenya were lonely and abandoned, contrary to what they had believed. As they began ministering to

praying about this, the Board of Directors voted to accept them into our “family.” Please pray for them, as they venture out into this new and unique ministry. Pray for us, as we take on the Leadership Role of overseeing their ministry. This will mean that we are venturing into areas that the Lord

has yet to reveal to us.
