New modern user interface (UI)SilkRoad Learning got a makeover! The user interface (UI) for the Administration and Student portals has a new look. It's sleek and modern. Let's take a look.
Administration Portal:
Name Description
1 Hamburger menu
Toggle to expand or collapse the navigation bar. When collapsed, only icons are shown not text labels.
2 Collapse menu Click to collapse the navigation bar. When collapsed, only icons are shown.
3 Navigation bar Contains menu options to access pages to perform actions.
4 Arrow Toggle to show and hide sub-menu options.
5 Header Displays the SilkRoad logo or a custom logo (if your administrator uploaded one).
6 User avatar Avatar of the logged-in user's initials. If user has a special character as first letter of first or last name, a generic avatar is shown.
7 Role selector Select a role to see the tabs, sub tabs, and links associated with that SilkRoad Learning role.
8 Shortcut tile Click a shortcut tile to perform a specific function.

Student Portal:
Name Description

6 Work pane Provides an area where you perform actions and complete tasks.
7 Sidebar(Welcome panel)
(If enabled) Shows information welcoming you to SilkRoad Learning. Only appears on the dashboard.

8 Popular Courses or Recommended Courses panel
(If enabled) Shows the top two most popular courses (that you have access to) from the Course Catalog or recommended courses. (Depends on which option your system administrator selected).
Tip: Click Discover more courses to open Course Catalog.
Navigation barA new navigation bar appears on the left and replaces the top tabs in the Administration Portal and top navigation bar in the Student Portal. It can be expanded or collapsed (great for mobile devices).

Expand All/Collapse All buttons (Administration Portal)In the Administration Portal when a page has multiple panels (sections), you can use the Expand All/Collapse All buttons to expand/collapse all panels (sections) at once.
Ellipsis button (Administration Portal)In previous releases, actions like Properties, Copy, Delete, and so on were consolidated behind a gear button
. The gear button is now an ellipsis button .
Expand/Collapse Search panel (Administration Portal)You can collapse (hide) the Search panel on Administration Portal pages to gain more space in data grids.

Click to show (expand) the Search panel again.
Jump to the Student or Administration Portal with easeIf you are a user with the Administrator role, you can easily jump to the Administration Portal from the Student Portal:

Instructor Dashboard enhancementsInstructors can now set training event status to Completed. When entering attendance data for enrolled users, they can enter a mark and mastery date for users who attended the class. Any users who are assessed with No Show attendance are automatically assessed with an Incomplete and no Mastery Date is allowed.

Note: When a user record for a class is marked Attended and a Mark and Mastery Date are recorded, allprevious incomplete records for the same training activity records will have the Course Expiration Date automatically set to one day prior to the current Mastery Date. This expires any existing Training page records for the same training activity and removes the courses from the user's Training page.
Setting Class Status to Complete
Instructors can now set the class status to complete after they have entered all attendance records for that class.

Instructors are prompted to change the status. After set to Complete, the status cannot not be reversed.
Class enrollment cancellationIn this release, enrolled users can cancel enrollment from any classroom event that allows cancellation at any time up to the end Time/Date for a current classroom session. Previously, enrolled users were blocked from cancelling enrollment if the current classroom session start Time/Date had passed.
