Box 1173 New York, NY 10156 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Incorporada (SIA) will celebrate 22 years of sisterhood, leadership and service in Boston/Dedham, Massachusetts the weekend of Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th. The organization’s National Convention and Annual Founders Banquet will take place in tandem. Sisters from dierent regions will convene for a weekend of celebration, empowerment and inspiration. This year’s theme, "Reigniting the Flame to Honor Our Foundation," was chosen by the body to convey the idea of the sisterhood’s unwavering light, passion and dedication. The weekend’s activities will commence with a community service event early Friday morning, followed by a tour of Boston in the afternoon. The National Convention portion of the weekend will take place Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th and will consist of member - only activities. During this time, members will have access to diverse professional development sessions and enrichment workshops. The banquet will take place Saturday, September 29th at 7pm at the Hilton in Boston/Dedham, MA and is open to members, family, friends, supporters, and the general public. The banquet will feature a keynote speaker, an award ceremony, dinner, music and dancing. In addition, there will also be a silent auction to raise funds for the organization’s Blue Ribbon Campaign, a national community initiative designed to promote awareness of the March of Dimes. Janis Contreras, a Mid- Atlantic alumna states, "I'm looking forward to reconnect with Hermanas from other regions and meet new ones. I’ve met so many great women through our network and have learned so much from the ones I’ve already met, it’s always a learning experience to attend our conferences, and not to mention, always fun! I can’t wait to share in laughs and memories but most importantly to make new ones."
