Why does our skin love Skin love Turmeric?

Of the many miracles that the common spice Turmeric brings to the table, a healthy scar free glowing skin is probably the most sought after. Cosmetic giants have been quick to latch onto the benefits and have been hard at work trying to sell ‘turmeric in a tube’ as a wonder cure for damaged or lusterless skin.

But why is it so good for our skin?

It is a little known bio-ingredient found in turmeric called “curcumin.”

Curcumin fights acne as well as fungal infections. It also helps the skin to detoxify by dissolving the harmful pollutants. Curcumin is a natural pain reliever too, so you won’t feel any discomfort when you apply turmeric on open sores or even on pimples. Apply a pinch of turmeric mixed with raw honey on skin injuries as a disinfectant as well as to keep those ugly scars at bay.

Papaya for that Perfect Skin!

Use a particular face wash and your face is free of all dead cells. This probably makes you think it's "easy." Well, in reality it's not so simple. To dissolve the dead cells, the protein in the cells must be broken down. The only effective ingredients to do the job are AHAs or Alpha Hydroxy Acids. This is why many skin exfoliating products contain AHAs.

Papain, which is found in Papaya has similar properties. Papaya is a safe and natural, plant-based alternative to chemical exfoliants.

To remove dead cells, gently massage papaya pulp on your face for about 5-7 minutes. Rinse your face alternatively with warm and cold water.

Remember not to overdo it though! Papaya is an acidic fruit, so don’t let the mask sit on your face for too long as it might cause dryness and skin irritation.

Orange Peel is the best scrub ever!

The juicy orange is much more than just a delicious burst of citrusy freshness that add that much needed zing to your mornings!

It’s a mini miracle for your skin.

Ground orange peels (and nothing else) just on their own make for the perfect scrub. The leathery granular texture serves as a gentle but extremely effective scrub, sloughing off layers of dead and decaying skin but the natural oil present in oranges moisturizes your skin at the same time! The antioxidants neutralize the free radicals keeping wrinkles and sagging cheeks at bay. The orange peel also serves as a natural bleaching agent which helps with skin whitening. To get an instant glow for that special date night, all you need to do is rub frozen orange peel cubes onto your skin. Continue rubbing till the cubes dissolve onto your skin into a scrub/mask. Splash your face with water to reveal the magic!

Garlic CURES Bad Breath

Aaah, Garlic…

Before you scrunch up your noses at the very thought of that puke inducing bad breath perpetuator, we beg you to give this misunderstood spice a chance to redeem it’s much maligned reputation that spurned on a multi-million dollar fresh-mint industry.

Garlic in fact is very effective in fighting bad breath. It is a natural cleanser and an anti-biotic. It reduces lipids in the blood stream, prevents arteries from clogging up and unnecessary deposits accumulating in the digestive system. It’s this “rubbish” in your gut which releases gases that come out from your mouth. Garlic gets your digestive juices flowing while killing the harmful bacteria in your stomach.

Therefore, to get rid of bad breath, simply mince 3-5 cloves of Garlic and swallow.

Music for Stress Management

We all have been at that place in life where we really don’t know what to do or where to head next.

When the world seems like one giant mess and we at bang center of it all.

Do you also feel as if extreme mood swings have taken over your life and you are no longer in control?

Switch on some Music

Research shows that soothing music such as classical instrumental pieces seem ‘melodious’ to us because of the calming wavelengths that they resonate at. These sound waves produce a sense of harmony and well-being in our minds. As we listen, the sound waves literally ease out our ‘stress’ and relax the nervous system. Remember, stress is your worst enemy and the only way to live life is to enjoy every moment of it!

Raise a Toast to Great Skin with Vodka!

The Russians love their national drink, the Vodka, as much as the French love their fine wines.

The French use their wines not only as fabulous meal accompaniments but also for enhancing their personal beauty. Similarly, Vodka can be easily used in your daily beauty regime to add that much wanted healthy white glow to your skin.

The gypsies have been using Vodka as an astringent or toner since time immemorial. Soak a cotton ball in a mix that is equal parts vodka and water and then lightly dab all over your skin. It will cleanse the skin and tighten pores.

You can add a dash of lemon juice to the mixture and freeze it. Rub these beauty cubes onto your face to bring down skin bloat, while vodka and lemon juice together tighten pores and brighten the skin.

Cheers everyone!
