SEVEN

WONDERS

OF THE

WORD

We have all heard of the seven wonders of the world.

Tonight, let’s explore the seven wonders of the Word.

Psalms 119:129 Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul

keeps them.

It’s Antiquity

It spans from 1500 BC to 96 AD.

It is the oldest form of information.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and

the earth.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word

was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of

men.

The Word is divided into two division

II Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly

dividing the word of truth.

It’s Modernity

Not only do we marvel at the Word’s antiquity, but also we marvel at Its modernity.

It is always fresh and up-to-date.

It is always relevant.

But It never changes.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not change

Hebrews 1:12 Like a cloak You will fold them up. And they will be changed. But You are the same. And Your years will

not fail.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and

forever.

We hear today many saying that the Bible is a good book, but It is not very relevant for our day and age.

Many say that there is a new morality.

There is no new morality and the Bible is very relevant for our day and age.

If It never changes, how can it be fresh and relevant.

It is God’s product, not man

II Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of

any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they

were moved by the Holy Spirit

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming

down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

Its Unity

The Bible is a library of books.

Yet It is one harmonious book.

Man alone cannot accomplish such a wonder.

But God can.

Matthew 19:26 With men this is impossible, but with God all things

are possible.

How is It harmonious.

II Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good

work.

Its Diversity

The Word of God has all types of literature.

Love stories.

War stories.

Stories of friendship

Stories of hatred and murder.

Including the greatest story ever told.

Nothing compares to it .

It is a literary masterpiece.

It is constantly on the Best Seller List

The Bible is harmonious and yet diversified.

Its Theme

Christ

Christ is coming

Isaiah 53:1-12 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the

arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of the dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire

Him.

He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our grief's

and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we

like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on

Him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the

slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers, is silent, so he opened not His mouth . He was taken

from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of

the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked, but with the rich at death, because He had done no

violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin,

He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be

satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.

Therefore I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoils with the strong, because

He poured out His soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the

sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Christ Came

John 1:14 And the word became flesh and dwelt among us,

and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 10:10 I have come that they may have life, and that they

may have it more abundantly.

Christ is coming again.

Acts 1:9-11

Now when had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And

as they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also

said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into

heaven.

Hebrews 9:26 So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time apart

from sin, for salvation.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I do want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those

who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believed that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive

and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will

descend from heaven with a shout, with the ark angel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus shall we always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another

with these words.

Each book relates to Its theme, from Genesis to Revelation.

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise

your head, and you shall bruise His heal.

Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come Lord

Jesus!

The Word Is A Source Of Hope

Hebrews 6:11-12, 18-19 And we desire that each one of you show the

same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the

promise. That by two immutable things, in which it impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for our refuge to lay hold of the hope

set before us. This hoe we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the

Presence behind the veil.

I Timothy 1:1 Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the

commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope.

What is this hope that is given through Jesus?

Titus 3:7 That having been justified by His grace we should

become heirs to the hope of eternal life.

This hope takes us beyond the grave into eternity.

John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice

and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to

resurrection of condemnation.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life which God who cannot lie,

promised ages ago.

Its Power

The word is powerful.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and

sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and

marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word has influenced many in civilization.

More importantly, the Word has a Spiritual power.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone

who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The Word is powerful enough to save us from our sins.

It is powerful enough to save us for eternity.

I Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has

begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an

inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are

kept by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The Word of God is powerful enough to save even the worst of sinners.

Unless you believe It and obey It, It can do nothing for you.

ARE YOU

LETTING THE

WORD OF GOD

SAVE YOU

TONIGHT.
