The Connection

This fall, Sunday School is all about

DISCIPLESHIP: Are you on board? Each week, we will engage scriptures and traditions of our

church as we learn about the 12 disciples in the Bible and

learn specific principles for being disciples today!

Children will follow an adapted ―young disciples‖

curriculum, led by lay people, with crafts and games.

Adults will have discussion based Bible studies led by

clergy.

At Trinity, you can get on board the SJ Disciple-ship at

9am—adults meet in the guild hall, children in classrooms

upstairs.

At Redeemer, you can get on board the SJ Discple-ship at

10:15am—adults meet in the lounge or large social hall,

children in the classrooms beyond the large social hall.

At St. Clement’s, you can get on board the SJ Disciple-

ship at 11:15am—adults meet in the undercroft, children in

the parish house

next door.

Its almost time for Sunday School to resume at all of our

ministry centers, and we are busy getting curriculum and

teachers ready! We also need to get the classrooms ready! At

all our ministry centers, some light cleaning, cleaning out of

storage, and decorating classrooms needs done before Sunday

school starts.

Please join us at one of the St Jude's ministry centers to

help us get our rooms ready for our children to have a

great Sunday School year! Simply show up at a center

during the time listed below:

MINISTRY OF BUILDINGS: KIDZ STUFF THRIFT STORE

We are very excited to announce that the Thrift Store is really coming

together...... BUT we still need your help. Continue to pray for this

endeavor, donate, volunteer, and spread the word!

Due to unforseen technical difficulties we have had to move back our

opening day.......HOWEVER, we are still hoping to open in

September!

We will continually be collecting items for our store - so if you know

of anyone with children who are out growing their toys or clothes,

bring in their gently used items!

We are going to be staffing the store hours with volunteers. We are

asking you to contact us if you are able to volunteer for a 4 hour shift

once a week, once a month, or whenever you are available We need

your help and support! The store will be open Thursdays 4-8, Friday

9-5, and Saturday 10-2.

Finally we would love to show you the store (which is located on the

third floor).

You may contact Candi Perrotta, Karen Panella, Dionis Blauser, or

Erin Herald if you have any questions or would like to see the store.

ST. JUDE’S OUTREACH COMMITTEE

Hands to Work: Hearts to God

Matthew 25: 35-40

Several individuals from our ministry centers have expressed an interest in serving on the new St Jude’s Outreach Committee in the past. We are now ready to get moving. Erin Herald, our postulant for Holy Orders to be a Deacon has agreed to serve as the convener of this ministry committee. The purpose of this committee is to strengthen and support outreach projects from the Ministry Centers and to plan and execute new ones that we may do as a congregation. It is not intended to replace ministry that is already being done. What follows is a letter from Erin: Let’s get together! I am inviting all members to be apart of St. Jude’s new Outreach Committee. Our first meeting will be at Redeemer Ministry Center on September 11th at 1pm. I encourage all interested people to attend this meeting. Our agenda will be to get acquainted with one another and to begin planning on how we might serve our communities and the world. I am very excited about this new ministry and pray that you will join with me in prayer and enthusiasm as we seek to serve Christ in others! Let us pray this prayer as we prepare to come together: May God bless me with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that I will live deep within my heart. May God bless me with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that I will work for justice, equality, and peace. May God bless me with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that I will reach out my hand to comfort them and change their pain into joy. And may God bless me with foolishness to think that I can make a difference in the world, so that I will do the things which others tell me cannot be done. AMEN. (Author unknown) Looking forward to seeing you on September 11th at 1pm Redeemer Ministry Center. If you are interested, but cannot make it to this meeting, please call me at 724-977-8321 or [email protected]
