Choice of an antihypertensive drug should be driven by likely benet in an individual patient,taking into account concomitant diseases such as diabetes mellitus, problematic adverse eectsofspecic drugs, and cost.Consensus guidelines ((www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/hypertension) recommend diuretics as
