Welcome to The Energizers Trampoline & Tumbling Team!!

We are all part of the South Central Iowa Energizers Trampoline and Tumbling Team, whether your child is just beginning his/her journey in Tumble Tots, on the Exhibition Team, or on the Competition Team and participates in one or all of the meets. If you have any questions or concerns about our program, please contact Sue or any of our coaches immediately! We are here not only to coach your child, but also to listen to your concerns, suggestions, etc.! We want this program to be a successful journey filled valuable life-skills for these young athletes. Our Team Motto is:

"Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.

~Author Unknown

Take your journey one day at a time. Focus on the small successes. By the end of the year you will look back and be amazed at the distance you have traveled.

Again, we welcome each of you to our Club. Without the support from the parents, none of this program could be possible! Thank you for your dedication each week to get your child to the gym and also for your participation in our Parents Club/Booster Club! Coach Sue Cornelison [email protected] 641-431-0471

Rules of our Gym: 1. Please arrive just a few minutes earlier than your class time. Please do not bring them

early  for  safety  reasons  and  it  can  be  distracting  to  the  others  in  the  class.  (we  can’t  monitor the bleachers while coaching class)

2. Please hang your coat and leave your shoes in the lobby. In the winter, we try to avoid tracking in snow/ice and having a wet slippery floor in the gym.

3. Please have your child use the restroom before you come to class. When one person wants to use the restroom, it seems like the whole class wants to go!

4. Be prompt in picking up your child from class, and please come into the lobby to pick them up.

5. Girls: Please wear your practice leotard to class. Feel free to wear shorts and t-shirts over your leos.

6. Please have your hair tied back and off your face – this is a safety issue!

7. No gum at class.

8. Head Lice: Tumblers will not be allowed to return to the gym for at least 7-10 days after the 1st treatment to insure that there is still not a problem. Because you can only treat it once in 7days and then retreat on the 7th day is recommended even if there are no signs of anything.

9. Pink Eye: Because pink eye is especially contagious, please take care not to bring your child to class if you suspect he or she might have pink eye.

10. No jewelry.

11. Please  bring  socks  with  you  to  class.  It’s  a  good  idea  to  carry  a  designated  “gym  bag”  to  keep a water bottle, and your socks or trampoline shoes in. That way you have your socks each week for class.

12. In the winter, our gym can be quite cool. Please have your child wear appropriate attire – leggings, or athletic pants and a long sleeve shirt. Please avoid having them wear hooded sweatshirts.

13. Be kind and courteous to your teammates at all times.

14. Parents – please wait in the lobby, or outside, or in your cars during class. Your presence typically causes a distraction for your child during class. We will have a “parents  night”  in  the  gym  once  we  get  a  good   routine going during class. We will try to do  a  Parent’s  Night   once/month, usually the last class of the month.

Exhibition Team: Each year, The Energizers put together an Exhibition Team that performs at half-time of high school and college basketball games. (cool, huh!) We try to perform at every highschool that kids on our Exhibition team attend. In order for your child to be on this elite team, certain skills are required, and your child must try out for the team. Our Exhibition Team consists of 2 groups: 1. The  “Bag”  group  – these kids are the power tumblers that dance in

stretchy bags, and then perform their tumbling skills.

2. The  “Balk-walkover group – These kids do a sequence of flexibility skills in between the bag team dance, and them getting out of their bags to start their power tumbling. These kids must have the following skills in GOOD, CONSISTENT form:

Cartwheels Handstand roll-downs Back walk overs Dive rolls

Tryouts for our 2015 Exhibition Team will be in late October this year. Tryouts will happen during class and you will be notified if your child met the skill requirements for this team. This team is optional and we typically can work on exhibition team during regular classes. Sometimes we have a few practices on the weekends prior to the first show. If you are unfamiliar with our Exhibition team, check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tfys56XoSnM

You may purchase competition leotards at the beginning of the season by purchasing them new, or purchasing a used leotard from someone else on the team that has outgrown them or is no longer in our program. *parents – feel free to use our Facebook page as a place to buy/sell your leotards*.

3. Boys Step-ins:    Our  Club  owns  the  boys’  uniforms,  and  rents  them  for $40.00. This is a one-time fee. Please make sure you sign a contract and pay your $40 for the boys 3-piece uniform.
