n ext steps : a path For every ch i ldNext Steps classes are designed to help students with Autism take their next steps as an artist and a person. Guided by our philosophy of teaching life skills through stage skills, students will experience the joy of drama, music, and movement each day with a team of teaching artists and special education professionals.

First Stage Theater Academy currently serves a variety of youth with high functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome in our current Academy offerings. These students and families have expressed immense growth in confidence and ability to interact socially with their peers and with adults. The “life skills through stage skills” philosophy creates a safe space for all students to be creative and be themselves without judgment or fear of failure.
