Scholars hips available for AORN members Members applying for scholarships will be considered for AORN-Edith D Hall scholar- ships, Purdue Frederick Fellowships, New- hauser Memorial Award, an Air Step Scholarship, and a Naturalizer scholarship. The selection of scholarship recipients is based upon the applicant’s fulfillment of the outlined requirements, the individual’s motivation and personal goals, evidence of positive personal commitment toward edu- cational growth, and the individual’s con- tribution to operating room nursing and the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Requirements. 0 Application must be received no later than May 15 for AORN-Edith D Hall Schol- arships for course work during the academic year and summer session. Applications for industry scholarships and fellowships must be submitted no later than January 15. 0 Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor of science degree with a major in nursing, or advanced education (MA, MS, MSN, EdD, PhD, DNSc) in nursing or a related field which will complement the nursing prof essian. 0 The applicant must be a current mem- ber of AORN in good standing. Member- ship must have been maintained at least one year prior to the submission of appli- cation. Members of the National AORN Board of Directors during their elected term and AORN Headquarters personnel are in- eligible. 0 The applicant must provide evidence of application for admission to an accredited program. Scholarship award is contingent upon proof of acceptance by the institution. 0 The applicant must arrange for submis- sion of official transcripts from all diploma and/or college educational programs. (In- clude all completed course work.) 0 The applicant must have an accumulated grade point average of 3.0 using a 4.0 point scale in diploma or undergraduate course work. If applicant does not meet this requirement, evidence (transcript of recent course work) which demonstrates that she (he) is capable of maintaining a 3.0 grade point average at the college level will be Considered. be reviewed semialnnually by the AORN Scholarship Board. Recipients of the AORN- Edith D Hall Scholarships will be notified by AORN. These funds are paid directly to the educational institution. Industry scholar- ships and fellowships are awarded directly to the recipient. Names of the scholarship recipients will be published in the AORN Journal and announced at the annual Con-
