Applications are to be submitted on the scholarship application form, which should be requested from:

All applications, transcripts, letters of ref- erence, and other correspondence are to be submitted to the board at the same address.
The selection of scholarship recipients is based upon the applicant's fulfillment of the outlined requirements, the individual's moti- vation and personal goals, evidence of posi- tive personal commitment toward educational growth, and the individual's contribution to operating room nursing and the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Requirements
Applications must be received no later than May 15 for AORN-Edith D Hall Scholarships for course work during the following academic year and summer session. Applications for industry schol- arships and fellowships must be sub- mitted no later than Jan 15. Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor of science degree with a major in nurs- ing, or advanced education (MA, MS, MSN, EdD, PhD, DNSc) in nursing or a related field which will complement the nursing profession.
The applicant must be a current member of AORN in good standing. As- sociate, as well as active, members are eligible to apply. Membership must have been maintained at least one year prior to the submission of application. Mem- bers of the National AORN Board of Directors during their elected terms and
AORN Headquarters personnel are in- eligible. The applicant must provide evidence of application for admission to an accred- ited program. Scholarship award is contingent upon proof of acceptance by the institution. The applicant must arrange for sub- mission of official transcripts from all diploma and/or college educational programs. (Include all completed course work.) The applicant must have an accumu- lated grade point average of 3.0 using a 4.0 scale in diploma or undergraduate course work. If applicant does not meet this requirement, evidence (transcipt of recent course work) that demonstrates she (he) is capable of maintaining a 3.0 grade point average at the college level will be considered. If student presents less than 12 credit hours toward the degree, the 3.0 grade point average must be in academic courses. Re- cipients of awards will be expected to maintain an accumulated grade point average at the B level each semester or quarter in order to qualify for funds for consecutive quarter or semester course work. The applicant may apply for additional scholarships, if grade point average is maintained at the B level. The applicant is responsible for having submitted in her (his) behalf three letters of recommendation, including at least one representing her (his) most recent work experience.
Method of Selection. Applications will be reviewed semiannually by the AORN Schol- arship Board. Recipients of the AORN-Edith D Hall Scholarships will be notified by AORN. These funds are paid directly to the educa- tional institution. Industry scholarships and fellowships are awarded directly to the recip- ient. Names of the scholarship recipients will be published in the AORN Journal and an- nounced at the annual Congress meeting of the Association.
