Northern Cruisers ready for Weekend of Wheels

Submitted by: Chuck Beck #1671

The Northern Cruisers Car Club of Grand Rapids is in the final stages of preparations for this year’s 31st annual Weekend of Wheels Car Show to be held July 25th at the IRA Civic Center in Grand Rapids. This year’s show is once again a voting event for MSRA.

The weekend gets underway on Thursday night with old car night at the local Dairy Queen. Make sure you stop out there Friday and Saturday nights as well. Registration for the car show is Friday from 5pm-7pm at the civic center and again on Saturday from 7am-noon. The car show runs from 7am-4pm on Saturday.

Your entry will get you and a companion into the show. There will be goody bags and dash plaques to the first 250 cars. Cars will be judged in 24 classes. Start the morning with the pancake breakfast and outside concessions will run all day. We run a free shuttle bus to the swap meet during the show. Take part in our blood drive from 10am-2pm. MSRA will also be doing safety inspections as well. After the awards are handed out you’ll be treated to our “World Famous” chicken and corn dinner. Following dinner we will head out on a 25 mile poker run/cruise.

Another big part of the weekend is the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce 3-day Swap Meet taking place just down the road at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. This is Northern Minnesota’s largest swap meet. This event opens on Friday afternoon at 4pm. Friday night will feature live music. Saturday and Sunday start bright and early with an 8am opening. There is also a Show-N-Shine Car Show during the swap meet on Sunday.

For more information on the Weekend of Wheels Show or to pre-register visit our web page www.northerncruiserscarclub.com or call Tami @218-492-4201 or Chuck @218-244-0742. For information on the chamber swap meet call Bud @ 218-244-0378.

For hotel information call Visit Grand Rapids @ 218-326-9607.

We hope to see everyone cruise up to beautiful Grand Rapids for this fun event.

Don’t forget! Date, name of event, location, time, cost & contact name and
