Tips for a healthier workspace

Hearing loss caused by harmful levels of workplace noise is preventable. Consider the following to protect yourself:

1. Intensity - Lower the volume or dampen the sound

2. Distance - Move away from the noise source3. Duration - Take regular breaks in quiet spaces,

especially when noise levels exceed 85 dB4. Defense - Choose hearing protection to

defend against specific noise hazards

— L1 protection for worksites with low frequency noise levels

— L2 protection for worksites with moderate industrial noise levels

— L3 protection for heavy industry and worksites with very high noise levels

Summerview on UVRADIATIONUV radiation is as dangerous to the eyes as it is to skin. Since UV radiation levels vary across the globe and are especially high near the Equator, vessel crews must be prepared. UV-protected safety eyewear is essential. To choose the right UV protection, please consider the following:

– Look for “100% UV” or “UV 400” product markings. Glasses with darkened lenses cause wearers’ pupils to dilate. If the glasses’ protection levels are insufficient, UV radiation will damage the wearers’ eyes and eyesight.

– Safety glasses and goggles should provide 360-degree coverage for the eyes and eye sockets. Be mindful of gaps above the eyebrows, at the temples, and above the cheeks.

Our range of lightweight safety eyewear provides UV 400 protection and superior anti-fog and anti-scratch performance in a universal fit.

Measuring instructions for shoes

Step 1Place a piece of blank paper taped to the floor on a hard flat surface. Stand up straight and press your heel against the wall. Have someone mark the longest part of your foot (referred to as ’’heel to toe length’’) on the paper with a pen or pencil.

Repeat the process with the other foot, as the right and left foot may differ.

Step 2Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the ’’heel to toe’’ distance you marked for each foot. Determine your own shoe size with the foot sizing chart underneath.
