Past meeting…

• 4th meeting of JTC1/SC38 was held in Seoul, Korea 19-23 September, 2011

• Participating Countries:Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Republic of Korea, Norway, Poland, UK, USA, Singapore, and Sweden

• Liaison members from:DMTF, ITU-T, INLAC, OASIS, Open Group, SNIA

• First meeting to have parallel sessions for SGCC and WG2 (SOA)

WG2 (SOA)

• Had 3 successful teleconferences prior to Korea to resolve Clause 3 and 4 of WD30102 – General Technical Principles of SOA

• Meeting recommended WD PDTR for 3 month ballot (initiate Oct 31)

• New Clause 5 harmonizes Annex content containing various Reference Models

• PDTR contains summary of SC32 WG2 19763-7 Service Registration in Annex E

WG2 (SOA)

• SOA overlap with SC7 needs attending• WG2 holding 6 teleconferences prior to Berlin

SC38 meeting mid May, to address WG7 overlap, prep work on developing NWI on SOA Reference Architecture, and PDTR ballot comments

• Initiated work on semantic model for addressing key concepts and ontology for technical relationships in PDTR 30102

WG2 SOA change in TOR (new in red)i. Enumerate SOA principles. ii. Coordinate SOA related activities in JTC 1. iii. Investigate where SOA related standardization is already ongoing in JTC 1 entities. iv. Investigate gaps and commonalities in work in “iii” above, such as SOA governance

and management, the latter including lifecycle aspects. v. Liaise and collaborate with relevant SDOs and consortia related to SOA. vi. Maintain possible future JTC 1 PAS and Fast Track developed ISO/IEC standards in the area of SOA. vii Identify and recommend development of new standard work where

gaps have be noted per iv viii Develop standards work assigned to WG2 by SC 38

WG 2 Future Plan of Work-1

1. Develop a New Work Item proposal for a International Standard on SOA Reference Architecture to include Terminology, Concepts and Technical RA

2. Initiate a modeling effort that will explore key concepts and ontology on the technical relationships identified in TR 30102 (input to this effort to include SC 38 N 369, French National Body Contribution on SOA Conceptual Model in WD 30102 V2)

3. Initiate discussions on interoperability requirements (input to this discussion to include SC 38 N 368, Chinese National Body Contribution on WG 2 Future Work)

4. Initiate discussions on scope between SC38 and SC7 based on SC7 Liaison Contribution (SC 38 N 315)

New TOR SC38 WG3 (Cloud Computing)

1. Identify, develop, and maintain JTC 1 deliverables initially in the field of Cloud Computing Reference Architecture and Terms and Definitions.

2. Investigate the requirements for new work in the areas of Use case Analysis Methodology and Principle of Cloud Service Delivery, as provided in Clause 5.2 of the Study Group Report on Cloud Computing (SC 38 N 430).

3. As a basis for the evaluation and development of new work, utilize a use case-based methodology as described in the SC 38 Study Group Report on Cloud Computing (SC 38 N 430) as appropriate.

4. Support SC 38 goals and respond to requests pertaining to Cloud Computing initiated by SC 38, JTC 1 and external Liaisons organizations.

5. Liaise and collaborate with SDOs and consortia related to Cloud Computing as appropriate.

6. Maintain future JTC 1 PAS and Fast Track submissions assigned to SC 38 in the area of Cloud Computing.

1. Review PDTR Annex E SC32 SOA Registry Metamodel and align with 19763-7 – Summary– Figure– Any proposed additons/deletions

2. Review SGCC Report (Cloud Computing) for interoperability relevance

3. Review /track work on SC38 WG3’s NWIs re: Reference Architecture
