Try these easy tests to determine if you have a leak.

Each office independently owned and operated.

Try The Meter Test

1. This test should be conducted for a 30 minute period, during which time no water is being used on the property.

2. Find your water meter, which is usually located in front of the house.

3. Write down the numbers indicated on the meter at the start of this test. The number on the far right is normally 1 litre.

4. Return to check the meter reading after 30 minutes have passed.

5. If the numbers have not changed, you do not have a leak in your pressurised water system. If the numbers have changed, continue with the following steps.

6. Shut off the values to all toilets in the house, along with any ice making machines, auto pool refill or anything else that uses water and repeat steps 1-4.

7. If the numbers have changed, this indicates water use. Your home or property may need a leak detection.

Bucket Test Your Pool

1. Bring the pool water to normal level. Turn off auto refill to pool (if applicable)

2. Fill a bucket with pool water to about 3 cm from the top.

3. Place bucket on the first or second step of pool.

4. Mark water level on inside of the bucket.

5. Shut off pump and mark pool level on the outside of the bucket.

6. Resume normal operation,

7. After 24 hours, compare the two water levels. If the pool water (outside mark) goes down more than the inside water level, there is probably a leak.

8. If it rains, both levels should go up by the same.
