The SattScope Operator Panels are a range of operator interface terminals that are ideally suited to replace discrete components, push buttons and display instruments in many applications.

The functionality of the OPs is naturally progressive. Upgrades can be

easily undertaken as many of the OPs have the same physical dimensions and panel cutout.

All the OPs use the same Windows-based configuration program, allowing for quick and easy set-up and installation. It’s easy to use the

pre-defined objects that are supplied with the OPs and reduce the programming time for your application. Contained in the configuration software are a wide variety of bitmap examples containing pictures of push-buttons, sliders, bars, meters, sensors....

Operator Interfaces -Terminals for IndustryThe operator interface products of the SattScope Operator Panel range are designed to provide high quality humanmachine interfaces (HMIs) for PLCs and other types of industrial control systems.

They have rugged plastic or metal enclosures validated to NEMA/IP/FCCCE standards.

The OP typically comprises a slim enclosure mounting, an LCD screen thais monochrome, and a membrane keypad. Some of the models in the rangoffer resistive-touch overlays for the display, further enhancing the customized options offered by the product.

The OP run-time software offers a wide range of facilities from simple text displays on the entry level “SattScope K” model, to trends, bar charts, and dynamic bitmaps on the more powerfumodels.

All the OPs can be tailored to better suit the user requirements by implementing the configurable “soft keys”. Here, there is a potential for ove600 application specific keys on the entry level systems and even more on the more advanced units.

Using the OPs with touch sensitive screens delivers even greater flexibilitywith up to 48 touch sensitive areas on the smaller OP units.

Configuration SoftwareAll the OPs are configured off-line from the PC based software tool WinCfg. WinCfg functions under Windows 3.11,Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.

Configuring an OP is quick and easyand there is the benefit of a common development environment for all models in the SattScope Operator Panrange. This will effectively reduce the “time of implementation” when designing the application solutions.

Having selected the database type fothe target OP (SattScope K, J+, H, 240or 320T) the software automatically structures the screen display and run-time facilities to match the target system.

Once configured it is a simple matterto download the database to the targetOP system through the PC’s serial portNow the SattScope Operator Panels isready to go on-line.

Run-Time SoftwareAll the OPs support certain standard functions which are considered essential for a quality MMI product thatis able to deliver an effective operator interface.

CommunicationsThe OPs support both read and write functions for a wide variety of control equipment protocols from the on-boardserial port.

Analogue and Digital PointsIt is possible to scale raw analogue datand convert it into plant engineering units. Digital point identity information, tag names and alarm limits are fully supported.

Alarm ManagerChecks for alarms on analogue and digital values can be managed to maintain a log of active alarms and supports operator acknowledgement oalarms.

Soft KeysEither 6 or 8 user defined keys may beconfigured on each text page dependinon the OP model. The keys may changpage, write to the PLC or perform otheroperator interface tasks.

ProtocolsAll the OPs are supplied as standard with a full suite of serial protocols for which there is no charge.

The serial protocols, currently available in the OP library, are providedwith the configuration software. During configuration, a protocol will be selected, and is downloaded to the targsystem.

All the protocols are read/write in order to allow the operator to view dataand send new information and instructions to the control device. Although the control device is typically a PLC, this is not always the case. A number of protocols are provided for other types of control devices, such asI/O systems, or three term controllers.

Interfacing to SattBus requires an adapter.

Operator PanelsThe OPs offer a new and exciting departure from the normal operator interface devices. All of the models in the OP range are rich in features normally found only on larger, more expensive devices, such as, printer ports, alarm handling, clocks, single hole cutout fixing and IP65/Nema 4/12rating.

SattScope KThe SattScope K is the “entry level” - text only - model in the OP range of MMI devices. The use of advanced design and manufacturing technologiehas enabled the SattScope K to be equipped with high functionality firmware at very low cost.

The operator interface comprises a high resolution pixel based display anda simple membrane keypad with tactilefeedback.

The panel cut-out and depth requirements are compatible with the more sophisticated models J+ and 240Tthereby simplifying the process of future upgrades.

● Flash program and data storage, no battery backup needed

● Six configurable function keys plus numeric and control keys

● Dynamic and static display of text in multiple font sizes

● Alarm management● 600 user configurable keys● Clock set from the PLC

SattScope HThe SattScope H OP (in a rugged metal enclosure for use in arduous industrial conditions) offers a clean, bright screen of unparalleled display quality with crisp images of superior definition. The hexadecimal keypad incorporates 8 user-defined function keys.

● NEC V40 processor● 512 kbytes of flash memory for

program and data storage● 640 x 200 dot matrix monochrome

display ● Metal enclosure● Display bitmaps● Print function● Real time clock

SattScope J+The SattScope J+ extends OP functionality from a simple text display to a more powerful interface. This is achieved through the use of trends, bar charts and bitmaps, while still maintaining the same ease of use.

It is manufactured to the same frame size as the SattScope K, providing a simple upgrade path from it.

The monochrome LCD screen offers a 256 x 64 pixel display area, with 8 lines of text of 42 characters, in variable font size.

● Display data as bar graphs, either vertically or horizontally

● Display data as graphical trends● Display text in sizes configurable by

the users● Alarm manager● Display bitmaps● Print function● Real time clock

SattScope 240TThe SattScope 240T incorporates all thtried and tested functionality of the OPrange with a larger, brighter display overlaid with a touch-sensitive system for direct screen interaction.

The normal LCD display of the OP range has been replaced by a CCFT-backlight transmissive model, increasing the display size to 240 x 128pixels and incorporating a resistive-touch display window.

This has enabled the development of touch membrane overlaid on the muchsimplified keypad, from which all but the essential keys have been removedThe resistive touch area of the display window has been divided into 8 horizontal rows and 6 vertical columnsto give 48 touch points each 16 pixels high and 40 pixels wide.

● 256 kbytes of flash memory for program and data storage

● Pop-up numeric/application keypad● Real time trending, bar charts and

bitmaps
