Fall 2015 & Spring 2016 | In Progress Team Project

Pairing this desire with a second of their passions, to make contemporary art a part of more peoples’ daily lives, 21C embarked on a journey to create both an economic driver for the community and an oasis where art challenges and amuses, stimulates conversation and provokes new ideas.

Alexey Kondakov Eugenia Loli

Concept Room Sketch

21C Hotel Museums uses art from relatively unknown contemporary artist. Inspired by the classical subject in a city background, we drew our concept from large cities. Large cities are made up of diverse neighborhoods that together make a community. We applied that to Manhattan, KS, and its seven different populations.

Design a space for a dual pediatric practice with a complete range of pediatric care. Create a relaxed atmosphere throughout to minimize the typical anxiety that most people, parents and children, feel when entering a doctor’s office.

The home invokes feeling of relaxation surrounded by people caring for others in a familiar location. “A Home Away From Home”benefits the patients as part of healing and staff, who spend all their time at their work

DETAILS

The layout connects the parts of a home to the clinic according to their function.

LIVING MODULE Fall 2015 | Duration 1 week

CHALLENGE Various small charrette challenges were given over a course of a week. They show hand sketching skills and quick problem solving in a short amount of time.

In a three hour time period, I had to flush out a near complete floor plan and elevations for a 480 sf. living module with certain program requirements. Afterwards, I had two days to put the plans into AutoCAD and render a perspective.

CHARRETTES

BERGIN KITCHEN

The objective for this charrette was to create a residential kitchen with universal design in mind for the clients in an odd shaped space having a day to create a layout, three elevations, and a perspective.
