APPLICATIONS• Sand from traditional or cyclonic jetting systems;

• Solids from wellhead, wellstream, or produced water desander accumulators;

• Solids collected in tanks, vessels, sumps, or piping;

• Cleaning of solids for overboard discharge or easier handling for landfill disposal.

BENEFITS• No moving parts, low maintenance and reduced downtime;

• Fully automated system; skid mounted or integrated into existing facility;

• Compact, cyclonic-based design;

• Mechanical cleaning through shear (liquid-particle), abrasion (particle-wall),

and attrition (particle-particle) interactions;

• Can discharge solids directly to caisson or dewatering bin system.

OPERATIONS• Slurry cyclone receives input stream and removes free liquids which are returned

to the process; does not backpressure upstream process;

• Accumulator holds multiple batches of solids until cleaning cycle initiated;

• eJECT™ transporter and eductor both fluidize and transport slurry through

closed-circuit cleaning loop;

• Sand cleaning cyclone provides high-shear to scrub solids; sending oily waste

to treatment and keeping solids recirculating;

• Automated action directs cleaned solids to disposal or dewatering system;

DESIGN PARAMETRES• ASME 150#, carbon-steel based system;

• Slurry cyclone sized for 30 m³/hr flow and can handle streams up to 25 wt.% solids;

• Accumulator sized for 2.8 m³ solids (4,500 kg);

• eJECT™ and eductor use 10 barg utility water at 14 m³/hr;

• Total loop recirculation time is 30 minutes, with 1-3 cycles sufficient for full cleaning.

SAND CLEANING SYSTEM

A sand cleaning system removes the adsorbed oil layer from produced solids using mechani-cal scrubbing in a compact system for offshore operations. Sand cleaning allows continu-ous sand handling without reliance of shipping solids back to shore for disposal.

Using cyclonic technology to minimize footprint and weight, also eliminates need for solvents, surfactant, or heat additions – these can be added for tough cleaning situations. The sand cleaning system is not designed to treat NORM, H2S, heavy metals, or pyrophoric solids, but is used for hydrocarbon and chemical removal only.
