Spanish Lesson Example the city

The lessons will cover vocabulary, grammar, listening, writing and speaking

skills because pupils will participate actively in the workshop with theteacher. Every lesson vocabulary about a particular topic will be taught (inthis example the topic is the city). the objective is not that the studentslearn all the words by heart because they are easily forbidden. The realobjective is that they get familiar with words and extract the overallmeaning by the context. Some tasks to achieve this will be proposed. Thesetasks will be resolved not individually but in groups.

Part 1: Vocabulary and lesson with Flash-Cards

Vocabulary will be presented. First, the teacher will teach the vocabulary,and will use flashcards with images. Students will have to match correctlythe different flashcards or playing with them.

Part 2: Reading

Reading part. Three texts are presented including the vocabulary given. Inthe first lessons the words will be marked according to his grammarcategory: sustantives (bold), verbs (underlined), and other words (simplestyle). This pursues that the students can get familiar with the grammarstructure of Spanish, and that they are able to predict which kind of word itis, even if they don’t know the meaning of that word. Later, some questionsregarding the texts are presented. Each text will have its translation inEnglish to help the students to understand it.

Part 3: Vocabulary learning with a map

A map will be provided showing different locations (vocabulary) on it. The

teacher will teach about location expression and verbs, and later thestudents will be asked to explain how to arrive to specific locations inSpanish, and some games will be done using the map (treasure hunt,competition between groups...).

Part 4: Grammar

Some explanations and grammar tasks will be taught, including verbconjugation, prepositions, etc.
