Thanks in part to newly developed driving assistance and safety systems – such as the world firsts PRE-SAFE® Sound and optional PRE-SAFE® impulse side. The latter feature moves the driver and front passenger into a more favourable position in the event of a side crash.

The interior of an automobile reflects our quality of life. How we live, work, enjoy and communicate. The new E-Class encapsulates this with Mercedes-Benzʼs modern interpretation of luxury. Modern luxury that is tangibly exclusive with high-quality appointments, visibly innovative with the new optional Widescreen Cockpit incorporating two 31.2 cm (12.3") displays. Enjoy the comfort of seats that can massage you and keep you fit, if you so wish. While you keep in touch with the world in a thoroughly relaxed manner by means of the new touch control buttons on the steering wheel.

Always in contact.You can open and start up the new E-Class with your smartphone by means of a digital vehicle key. It can also be synchronised via Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto with the optionally available COMAND Online infotainment system. Intuitively connected for inductive recharging: just place your inductively chargeable smartphone on the charging station in the centre console. Manoeuvre into and out of parking spaces in supreme comfort – by activating the new optional Remote Parking Pilot via an app. It takes just one finger to control the parking process, with the new E-Class negotiating parking spaces fully automatically and safely.

The E-Class was always an innovation flagship – in keeping with which, the new generation advances the cause of refined motoring once again. With technologies such as the DYNAMIC SELECT driving programmes, the optional MULTIBEAM LED headlamps and the optional AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension. Making every trip an experience. And leading to new horizons: with the optionally available DRIVE PILOT – offering a glimpse of the future shape of mobility.

Miles ahead on all fronts.

Drive powered by intelligence.The advanced diesel engines on board the new E-Class are even more powerful and agile, yet at the same time more economical. An intelligent generation of engines, such as the 4-cylinder diesel engine on board the E 220 d with an output of 143 kW (194 hp) and peak torque of 400 Nm, redefines the meaning of efficiency. In combination with the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, every journey is raised to a new level. This is the worldʼs first 9-speed automatic transmission in the premium segment that can be used with lon gitudinally mounted engines and features a hydrodynamic torque converter. The benefits are reduced engine speed intervals between the gears, faster gear changes and even greater agility.

The air-borne height of refined motoring.The optional AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension features for the first time on the new E-Class. The multi-chamber air suspension system works in unison with continuously variable damper control to ensure a very high standard of ride comfort and driving dynamics. The damping system adjusts to the given driving and road conditions at each wheel. Pitching and rolling can be effectively reduced when cornering or braking, for example. AIR BODY CONTROL can be set to any of the four modes “Comfort”, “Comfort Plus”, “Sport” or “Sport Plus” by means of DYNAMIC SELECT, for a greater emphasis on comfort or sportiness. And the level control system offers a constant vehicle level, irrespective of the load on board and the driving conditions.

With the introduction of this enhanced system, Mercedes-Benz is revolutionising motoring. A milestone on the way to autonomous driving. On all types of roads – motorways, country roads and in the city – the optionally available DRIVE PILOT is not only able to maintain the correct distance from vehicles ahead automatically, it can also follow them in the speed range up to 210 km/h. This relieves the driverʼs workload, as the Distance Pilot DISTRONIC avoids the need for the driver to brake or accelerate in normal driving scenarios, in addition to which they receive substantial steering assistance – even in bends.

take-back of end-of-life vehicles. At the end of its life, you can return your E-Class to us for environment-friendly disposal in accordance with the European Union (EU) End-Of-Life Vehicle Directive. But that day lies a long way off.

A network of vehicle take-back depots and dismantlers has been established to make it as easy as possible for you to return your vehicle. You can leave it at any of these points free of charge and, by doing so, make an important contribution to completing the recycling process and conserving resources.
