A R F F G Meditating the Word of God Brothers and sisters, today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord to Heaven. “He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.” As we all know, in the beginning, before all things were creat-ed, God was formless in His existence. The best way to describe His existence is to say that God was “present.” This nature of God echoes the Words of Yahweh and Jesus who both claimed to be, “I am.” “I am” means “I am present; I am here” In the case of God the Father, it can also mean, “While you may not see Me, I am here. I am present.” Brothers and sisters, who was lifted up? and why were the disciples so fascinated with the Ascension of the Lord Jesus? What perception of the Lord did the disciples enjoy?" In Jesus, the disciples perceived the incarnation of God. In awe, they perceived the three Divine Presences of God, the Alpha and the Omega. And naturally, in His resurrected and glorious body, in the Ascension, the disciples were witnessing the departure of Jesus Our Lord from this world. In today’s First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, began by introducing us to the first Book of the New Testament. In the first verse, we heard that Luke had written another book, that being the Gospel according to Luke. Proceeding with verse 1:4 of the Acts of the Apostles, Jesus ordered His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until such time as they had received the promise of the Holy Spirit. What was this promise? It was the promise of the reception of the Holy Spirit, this promise being manifested today in the Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation. The reception of the Holy Spirit was very important because He had been chosen and sent by the Father and the Son to sustain Christianity in a new era of sacred histo-ry, the era of the Church and its mission. In today’s Gospel of Matthew involved the great commission that was given to the Apostles by Jesus. Proceeding to granting someone the authority to do something, it is necessary to establish that one has the authority to give such an authority. Jesus began by stating that He enjoyed such an authority. “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me.” What authority are we talking about here? To an-swer that, it is necessary to refer to today's Second Reading from the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians. “God put power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.” The authority of Jesus is above all rule and authority and power and dominion. Through death on the Cross, followed by His glorious Resurrection, Christ conquered those gov-erning bodies. Now, none of them possess any power over men. None of them can stand in the way of God's progressive Divine Plan of salvation for mankind in the present age of grace that shall be fulfilled through Christ.

PRAYER FOR HOPE I pray today for hope that I will never give up. I pray today for strength even though I may be in despair. I pray today for peace to accept the things I cannot change. Amen.

MEMORIAL DAY

On this Memorial Day, we pray for those who coura-geously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the self-less love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Bless the families of our fallen troops and fill their homes and their lives with Your strength and peace.

R G Meditando la Palabra de Dios Hermanos y hermanas, hoy celebramos la Ascensión del Señor al Cielo. "Fue levantado, y una nube lo sacó de su vista". Como todos sabemos, al principio, antes de que todas las cosas fueran creadas, Dios no tenía forma en su existencia. La mejor manera de describir su exis-tencia es decir que Dios estaba "presente". Esta naturaleza de Dios se hace eco de las palabras de Yahveh y Jesús, quienes afirmaron ser: "Yo soy". "Yo soy" significa "Estoy presente; Estoy aquí ". En el caso de Dios Padre, también puede significar:" Aunque no me veas, estoy aquí. Estoy presente." Hermanos y hermanas, ¿quién fue levantado? ¿Y por qué los discípulos estaban tan fascinados con la Ascensión del Señor Jesús? ¿Qué percepción del Señor disfrutaron los discípulos? En el Evangelio de Mateo de hoy, se incluyó la gran comisión que Jesús le dio a los Apóstoles. Para otorgarle a alguien la autoridad para hacer algo, es necesario establecer que uno tiene la autoridad para otor-gar dicha autoridad. Jesús comenzó afirmando que disfrutaba de tal autoridad. "Toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra me ha sido dada". ¿De qué autoridad estamos hablando aquí? Para responder eso, es nece-sario referirse a la Segunda Lectura de hoy de la Carta de Pablo a los Efesios. "Dios puso poder para trabajar en Cristo cuando lo resucitó de los muertos y lo sentó a su diestra en los lugares celestiales, muy por encima de todo gobierno, autoridad, poder y dominio, y por encima de cada nombre que se nombra, no solo en este edad pero también en la era por venir ". La autoridad de Jesús es sobre todo regla y autoridad y po-der y dominio. A través de la muerte en la cruz, seguida de su gloriosa resurrección, Cristo conquistó esos cuerpos gobernantes. A MESSAGE FROM DEACON RICHARD Today as we hear the Scriptures in the gospel, of Matthew the Great commissioning of his disciples to spread the good news. The ascension that we hear about the present Lord com-missioning his disciples to go out to all nations and spread the good news and making them disciples, and teaching, baptizing them in the name of the father son and Holy Spirit. In the acts of the apostles the ascension serves as Jesus final appearance and the people looking as Jesus is taken up into heaven. In the Second reading of the Ephesians Paul prays for a spirit of wisdom and revelation to be given to the community, We are reminded this Sunday that we also a commission to bring the good news to the world and as we celebrate the as-cension of the lord where are we looking at up or around us, we are also reminded that we should be asking on to send his Holy Spirit and wisdom to each one of us and to the world as we pray for an end of this pandemic and the suffering that is around us. Update on the office, the office staff has been busy doing wellness calls to over 500 register Parishioners. Also, updating the database with current information. In the next two weeks we will do a food drive for people in our community that is in need. Thank you for your support and prayers.

MENSAJE DEL DIACONO RICHARD Hoy, al escuchar las Escrituras en el Evangelio, de Mateo el Gran encargo de sus discípulos para difundir las buenas nuevas. La ascensión que escuchamos del actual Señor encargando a sus dis-cípulos que fueran a todas las naciones y difundieran las buenas nuevas y los convirtieran en discípulos, y enseñándolos, bautizán-dolos en el nombre del padre hijo y del Espíritu Santo. En los actos de los apóstoles, la ascensión sirve como la apariencia final de Jesús y el pueblo que mira como Jesús es llevado al cielo. En la segunda lectura de los Efesios, Pablo ora para que se dé un espíritu de sabiduría y revelación a la comunidad, Este domingo se nos recuerda que también tenemos la comisión de llevar las buenas noticias al mundo y al celebrar la ascensión del Señor donde estamos mirando hacia nosotros o a nuestro alre-dedor, también se nos recuerda que debemos pedir que enviemos su Espíritu Santo y sabiduría a cada uno de nosotros y al mundo mientras oramos por el fin de esta pandemia y el sufrimiento que nos rodea.
