Loving God, raise up dedicated leaders who will shepherd your people and guide them to your Son. Give generous and willing hearts to the seminarians of our Diocese who have heard your call to live a life of ser-vice to the Church. Help us to encourage and support them as they strive to become priests who are models of discipleship, possessors of wisdom and on fire with love for your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Children’s Liturgy & Religious Education Classes are done for the year. Classes will resume in September. Please watch the bulletin for Sign-up Information. Congratulations to our 8th graders as they celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend. Ian Bacon, Preston Baltruczak, Jason Emelander, Randal Klatt, Benjamin McDonald, Morgan Perrin, Madison Ruwersma, Lillian Nowak, Bryce Schoenborn, Abigail Way, Kyle Weishuhn As they confirm their faith in Christ and the Roman Catholic Church, may the Love of God always be in their hearts. May Crowning will take place this weekend during the Sunday morning 11:00 a.m. Mass. In this ceremony we are celebrating Mary, as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. St. Mary’s Mother’s Day/Father’s Day PREGNANCY HELP Baby Bottle Drive! Supporting the drive will benefit HELP’s ministry in so many ways: Keeping them supplied with some of the most needed baby essentials such as pack-n-plays, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, baby wash, lotion etc. They provide walk-in hours for a free ultrasounds for those who are abortion minded, this service has the cost of providing a qualified ultrasound tech on staff. Please pick up a Baby Bottle from the Narthex on Mother’s Day weekend and fill with your “extra change” ! Please return Father’s Day Weekend. Thank You!

Mr. Michael M. Steffes, Jr. will be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Andrews. Deacon Stephen Durkee, Deacon Steven Geerling, and Deacon Kyle Kilpatrick will be ordained Priests on June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Andrew. We presently have 7 men at St. John Vianney College Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN along with 15 men at Mundelein Seminary at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL. Please continue to pray for all these young men.

If your teen is interested in the youth trip to Baldwin or Steubenville, please pick up a form in the back of church. The deadline for the forms to be turned in is extended . If you could sign your teen’s name on the sheet prior to that date, so I know how many seats to plan for, I would appreciate that. If finances are an issue, there is help available. Volunteers and chaperones are welcome as well.

St Mary’s will be hosting a Safe Environment Training (VIRTUS) Course! The Diocese requires all adult
volunteers who are engaged in programs that involve contact with children attend this Free course. If you want to volunteer in a Religious Ed Class, Youth Ministry, Mission Chaperone, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Liturgy, or any other program you will need to attend this course on Monday, June 5 at 7PM at our Parish Hall! MEMORIAL DAY MASS: Fr. Ayub will be celebrating Mass outside at the altar in front of the cemetery (Bring a chair, weather permitting-otherwise it will be in the church) on Monday, May 29 at 8:00 AM. Please join us to pray for our beloved dead, especially those who were killed in the line of duty.
St. Michael’s will be hosting a Ladies Tea Party for women of all ages, on Saturday, May 20, from 10:30AM-12:30PM, in the Family Center. Come for brunch and entertainment! You must register ahead of time, and registration forms are available by calling the parish office at (616) 384-4026.

Catholic Connect is a faith sharing group for young
adults (ages 20-35) seeking to grow closer to God and under-stand the Catholic faith. Through Bible study, praise and wor-ship, service, and fellowship, young adults are connected to others who share their passion to learn and grow closer to Christ. ST. MICHAEL’S FAITH FORMATION Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered on Sundays during the 9:00 Mass. CLW is for children ages 3-7 years. Each week we pray, read and explore the Sunday Gospel from a child’s view-point. We include the Gospel Acclamation so that children under-stand the importance of preparing our mind and heart for the Gos-pel reading. We will not have CLW on May 14th due to Mother’s Day. May you have a blessed day. May 21st will be our last CLW for the school year.
Elementary Faith Formation: Thank you catechist and helpers for your dedication in sharing our Catholic faith with the Faith For-mation students! Your generosity of giving your time and talent is greatly appreciated! Thank you! Our program is on summer break and classes will resume in the fall. Middle School Faith Formation: Grades 6, 7 and 8 is on summer break. See you in September. Thank you to all of the middle school catechist and volun-teers who have made this year so special. Today our eighth grade students will celebrate the Blessed Sac-rament of Confirmation. Congratulations and prayers as you re-ceive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Michael’s is truly run by volunteers. There are dozens of people behind the scenes that make our liturgies and our programs run smoothly. One of these volunteer families, Butch and Marcy Goosen, are retiring after many, many years of volunteering in so many ways: Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Angel Cooks Meal Ministry, Auctions, Festi-vals, funeral luncheons, counting and coordinating the con-tribution counters, prayers and backing St. Michael’s in eve-ry way!
