It tells a story about why a real-life person is important.It tells the events based on actual things that havehappened.

of the expedition?
The expedition must have been very large if it consisted of more than 40 men.
Why was Sacagawea important to the
expedition? Sacagawea knew the land. She knew the people and the languages. She also knew what was safe to eat, and how to survive in the areas in which they weretravelling.
What text evidence tells you that Sacagawea is more valuable than her
husband to the expedition? Sacagawea’s husband was
hired as an interpreter and a guide, but the text says the only thing he could do well was cook sausage. Sacagawea is more of a real guide, but she is not paid.
Why did the explorers build a fort in the winter of
1804? The explorers built a fort to wait out the winter because it would have been too difficult and dangerous to travel during that time.
How did Sacagawea help when the boat tipped and started to fill with water?
Sacagawea stayed calm and rescued the captains’ important things. Without the supplies and other items that she saved, the expedition could not have continued.
