The beginning

• Soon after an order of slaughter was issued for more than 30,000 people.

Five days= 40,000 murdered

• Within hours Hutu gunmen began killing Tutsis and moderate Hutus-in the next five days they had killed at least 40,000 people

Foreigners leave

• April 9th: America, France, and Belgium removed their citizens

The next 100 days

• 800,000 people killed
