The triennial highlight of Guiding and Scouting in Europe is here again. It's time for Rovers and Rangersfrom across the continent to gather in Finland for a memorable meeting of cultures. Over 3500 partici-pants from over 40 countries have registered for the event. Hundreds of volunteers have worked hardto deliver you a truly international event with plenty of exciting opportunities. 60 action-packed four-daypaths around Finland, combined with the five-day camp at the adventurous Evo campsite in the middle of

the forest, provide an excellent platform for an experience of a lifetime.

Roverway is as much about learning as it is about having fun. Ideally, by the end of the event everyoneshould have learned something useful and had lots of fun with new friends. We, the organizers, are try-ing to be as flexible and friendly as possible so that the Roverway experience would be special, positiveand memorable for each participant. But it's not only up to us: everyone can do their share to contrib-

ute to the event. The more everyone gives of themselves, the better the whole event will become.

As the Project Director, it is my pleasure to wish you most welcome to enjoy Finnish summer with all ofus. This time the motto is "see.feel.follow.". What will this mean for you - join us and discover for your-

    self!

Roverway path W13 goes on a test drive

As spring rolls into summer, the buzz of action around Finland is increasing as Tribe leaders make prepara-tions for their Paths in July. In Kankaanp, an energetic crew took on the 49-

kilometer route from Kankaanp to Pori last weekend.

The Tribe Leaders of W13 Kankaanp arranged a test drive of the handcars whichwill be used by the Tribe this summer. The sporty bunch started on their way onSaturday afternoon and had planned to stay overnight in Noormarkku. However, the thrill of travel was apparently too intense and they drove their way through 49kilometers in 8 hours before arriving in Ruosniemi. "Everything went even better

than we planned. This was an awesome trip", says Emilia Paronen.

Watch a slideshow of the test drive.

Meetings after meetings = planning = results

Roverway Committee has made important decisions e.g. crisis management guidelines and Event Rules.

Roverway Committee and the Tribe Leaders just finished their weekend meeting together, the last one be-fore the event. Participation was excellent, hype was high and one thing is sure -the participants will be taken

care of by marvelous people and we are sure they'll have a great time!
