The Schneider TAC Xenta 411 digital input modules are used as expansion modules for the TAC Xenta controller. They have ten digital inputs generally used as pulse counters for pulse meters deployed within your site. You can now reroute your Xenta 411’s pulse readings to Wattics via our Octopus gateway in a few steps. It is assumed that your meters and Xenta 411 are already wired and collecting measurements. If not, read and understand Schneider manuals for installing, operating, or maintaining your Xenta 411. Installation and program procedures must be carried out and inspected by qualified personnel. Make sure that all devices are powered off before any wiring is done

1 Power Octopus and Xenta 411 off2 Connect the GND from Octopus to the GND of Xenta 411 (Xenta 411 power supply mustnot exceed 24VDC or that could damage the Octopus)3 Wire pulse lines from Xenta 411 XN inputs to Octopus inputs (X1 to X10)4 Power up both units

The Octopus Gateway comes with 6 inputs If more than 6 pulse meters are connected toyour Xenta 411 or if you have multiple Xenta 411 modules you can use an Octopus IOextension module to enable an additional 16 inputs

23 Configure your deployment setup Launch the WatticsToolexe Software Tool and create a new Branch using the ldquo+rdquo button Fillthe ldquoBranch Namerdquo field with a short name for your project and insert the serial number ofyour Octopus Gateway that you can find on its sticker or on its box

Click on Network Configuration to enable Internet access for your Octopus You can enableDHCP to get the Octopus to connect to the Internet automatically (Tick DHCP click onDiscover and click on Set when the Octopus IP address is shown) For LAN access withmanually assigned static IP addresses you will need to get network parameters from your ITdepartment and enter them here

Enable Service 1Set Wattics as Service NameEnter octopuswatticscom as Service Host Address (IMPORTANT When using GPRSSim cards or when your firewall does not support the use of URLs you must enter5250202103 as Service Host Address)Set 4401 as PortClick OK

You must click OK to create the Branch

Once back to the Octopus Software Tool landing page you can select your Branch and clickthe ldquoAddrdquo button on the right side to register the pulse meters connected to the Octopus

Select the suitable entry in the drop-down menu and click Add You should select Electricity ifelectrical meters are connected to the Xenta 411 and Generic for other types of metersChoosing Interval will get the Octopus to push interval pulse counts to Wattics whileAccumulated will get the Octopus to push total pulse counts to Wattics Unless specifiedchoose the Interval entry

At the next screen you must enter a device name and select the input number to which thepulse line is connected

The device name must be a unique name identifier Unless a convention has been pre-agreedwith us we ask you to use the following naming convention for choosing your unique nameidentifiers

OctopusID-counter nameofdevice

(for example use 230007E7-1 Plantroom for the Plantroom meter if this is the first deviceconfigured via the Octopus Gateway ID 230007E7 and if Plantroom is the name you want tosee in the dashboard for that meter The next device will use the -2 counter extension etc)

Make sure to insert a space between OctopusID-counter and nameofdevice

Click OK to save your configuration The device now appears in the list of devices registeredwithin your branch

Once you have all your devices created you must deploy your configuration onto theOctopus Gateway Select your branch and click on the Deploy button

Your Octopus Gateway is now configured for data collection from all the devices connectedWe recommend that you save your project should you need to modify the configuration as alater stage You will then be able to update an existing project when you add new meters

Launch the CDTexe Software Tool enter your Octopus serial number and click on Connect

The device name must be a unique name identifier Unless a convention has been pre-agreedwith us we ask you to use the following naming convention for choosing your unique nameidentifiers

OctopusID-counter nameofdevice

(for example use 230007E7-1 Plantroom for the Plantroom meter if this is the first deviceconfigured via the Octopus Gateway ID 230007E7 and if Plantroom is the name you want tosee in the dashboard for that meter The next device will use the -2 counter extension etc)

Make sure to insert a space between OctopusID-counter and nameofdevice

Click OK to save your configuration The device now appears in the list of devices registeredwithin your branch
