RESTAURANT AND FOODSERVICE mANAgEmENTThe B.S. in Restaurant and Foodservice Management focuses

on restaurant management and foodservice operations with

an emphasis on restaurant design, food preparation, franchise

development, cost controls, food and beverage management,

catering and banquet organization.

Hospitality is not defined by hotels alone—it includes

events, conventions, trade shows, tourism, theme

parks and attractions. It’s about creating the most

enjoyable experience for every guest, whether

they’re having a quick dinner out or attending a

large convention.

Where the Boardroom & Classroom MeetOur 40 faculty members represent 13 countries and are recognized

experts within the hospitality industry. Many of our faculty have

held executive positions in restaurants, hotels, theme parks and

attractions. In addition to their teaching experience, they have

planned major conventions and events, and held leadership roles

in numerous professional associations.

Our students graduate with valuable work experience and industry

connections. Rosen College is well-connected to local, national

and international hospitality companies. Our industry partnerships

give students access to facilities such as the Disney Dining Room,

the Universal Foundation Library, the Anheuser Busch Beer and

wine Lab, the Darden Auditorium, and the Central Florida Hotel

and Lodging Association Executive Development Center during the

academic year.

At Your Service

Rosen College students will find everything they need right on campus.

Student Services provides access to academic and personal needs. The

staff focuses on individualized attention and addresses the academic,

career and personal concerns of each student.

getting Around

UCF Shuttle Service provides free round-trip transportation to and from

Rosen College to UCF’s Orlando campus. The Shuttle Service runs nine

round-trips daily Monday through Thursday. The first bus leaves UCF at

8 a.m. and the last bus leaves Rosen College for UCF at 7:30 p.m.

Stay Healthy

Rosen College Fitness Center offers everything from cardio machines

to free weights. All Rosen College students also receive a free 1-year

membership to the YMCA on International Drive, which is less than

two miles from campus. In addition, an 85,000-square-foot Recreation

and wellness Center is available on the Orlando campus and is free

for all students.

Students have access to health services at the MacMurray Medical

Center. In addition, a nurse is on campus to see students several

times a week. UCF’s Health Center is another alternative available

to students.

Outside the ClassroomAs a world-class tourist destination, Orlando boasts thousands of restaurants, trendy night-

clubs and quiet coffee bars. Visit exciting attractions, ride an exhilarating roller coaster at

one of the theme parks or cheer on the Orlando Magic at a basketball game. If you love to

shop, check out some of the trendy boutiques and designer stores, or soak up the sun at

one of the beaches, which are all within driving distance from campus. There’s so much to

do in Orlando, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for when you’re not hitting the books.

Applying to UCFAdmissions

Space is limited at UCF; we encourage students to apply as

early as possible. By applying early, students get a head-start

on applying for scholarships and housing, as well as a faster

response time.

The easiest way to apply is online at admissions.ucf.edu.

Be sure to submit the signature page and residency affidavit

along with the application fee. Or you can send us a paper

application.

UCF operates on a rolling admissions basis, with deadlines

for each semester. Students are generally notified of an

admission decision two to four weeks after we receive all

official supporting documents.

Freshmen

A freshman applicant is a student with 11 or fewer credit hours of

college course work after high school graduation. Admission to

UCF is offered based upon a review of the high school academic

record, quality and difficulty of courses taken, weighted GPA,

grade trends, and SAT or ACT scores.

REqUIREmENTS

UCF requires 18 high school units. Students must complete:

• english—4 years

• Math—3 years (algebra i and above)*

• Science and Social Studies—3 years

• Foreign language—2 years (in sequence)

• academic electives—complete 3

SAT scores are compiled using the highest critical reading and

math sub scores from each test taken. ACT scores are based on the

highest reported composite score.

* Students applying for admission in 2011 or later are required to complete 4 years of math.

NOTE: Meeting minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee admission.

UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management

offers transfer students the opportunity to

complete their college education and earn

a degree at the fastest-growing college of

hospitality in the United States.

How to Apply Transfer students can apply up to one year ahead of the

semester they plan to attend Rosen College. Here’s what

you need to do:

College admissions office to be sure.

Financial Assistance UCF students are awarded more than $200 million in financial

assistance every year. For the most up-to-date information on

tuition and fees, visit www.finaid.ucf.edu.

The university awards more than $5 million every year to

new students from across the nation, $260,000 of which

are awarded to Rosen College students. As many as 2,500

freshman and transfer students obtain merit-based awards

and, in addition, UCF administers hundreds of scholarships

initiated by individuals and organizations.

Applying to Rosen College as a Transfer Student

UCF participates in a unique statewide program for students

transferring from a Florida public community college

or university.

If You HaveAn Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in hospitality •

management from a Florida community college (A.S.

to B.S. track), you’ll need to complete 60 credits.

An Associate in Arts degree from a Florida community •

college or university in any major, a college-level algebra

course is required. Recommended: financial accounting,

and micro- or macro-economics before transferring.

Completed 60 or more credits at a private college in Florida •

or out-of-state college, two English composition courses

and two mathematics courses (college-level algebra or higher)

are required. Recommended: financial accounting, micro-

or macro-economics, Introduction to Hospitality (if available).

Completed less than 60 credits, your application will be •

evaluated based upon your high school and college work.

Recommended: two courses in English composition, two

courses in mathematics (college-level algebra or higher) and

Introduction to Hospitality (if available).

RequirementsAll transfer applicants must be in good academic standing •

to be considered for admission. Requirements include a

minimum 2.5 overall GPA, a minimum 2.0 GPA at the last

institution attended, and two years of a foreign language

from high school or eight semester hours of college-level

foreign language.

Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee •

admission. The overall academic GPA will be recalculated

by UCF on all transfer course work. In calculating this GPA,

UCF recognizes a plus/minus grading system. Grade

forgiveness is honored only if it has been awarded as part

of an A.A. degree (or recognized A.S. degree program) from

a Florida public community college or university.

Transfer applicants with fewer than 60 college credit hours •

must also submit official high school transcripts, SAT or ACT

scores and all college transcripts.

Be Our GuestThe Campus Visit Experience at the Rosen College

Rosen College’s resort-style campus is something you should see for yourself. The campus

visit experience includes an information session with an admissions representative, and a tour

of the campus and the Rosen College Student Apartment Community.

Visit days and times are Mondays and Fridays at 1 p.m., except holidays. Reservations are

Yes, you can tour two campuses in one day! Visit UCF’s Orlando campus Monday or Friday

at 10 a.m. Following that is a visit to Rosen College for the 1 p.m. campus tour. Each have an
