Roeper Summer Stock Theatre The Roeper Summer Stock Theatre has been created to develop and showcase the skills of students who are in-terested in theatre training. Students work with a variety of professional theatre instructors specializing in various techniques and areas of skill development. All students participate in activities to build skills in acting, singing and dancing. Each session is customized to meet the needs of students exploring theatre for the first time as well as the more experienced actor.

Summer Stock Junior, 4 years old – Grade 1. This program will unleash your child’s imagination through an exploration of acting, music and dance. Taught by experienced and nurturing teachers, each session will include singing, skits, games, crafts, activities and more. Each one-week session will culminate in a short performance of selected skits, songs and dances on the last day of class. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants per session.

Summer Stock Theatre Junior: Grades 1 – 3. With a focus on exploration in theatre, music and dance, this program provides ample structure with plenty of time for playing and exploring different aspects of perform-ing on the stage. Taught by experienced and nurturing teachers, each day will include skill-building classes, games, crafts, activities and more. Each two-week session will culminate in a showcase performance of selected scenes, dances and musical numbers in the evening of the second week. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants per session.

Summer Stock Theatre Junior: Grades 4 – 6. Students will have fun learning basics of theatre, specifical-ly in the areas of character development, improvisa-tion, movement, dance and music. At the end of the two-week session, students will give a performance for family, friends and other members of the community. Enrollment is limited to 28 participants per session.

Summer Stock Theatre, Grades 6 – 12, provides a solid theatre basis for all students and challenges the more seasoned actor as well. At the end of three weeks, a musical is performed for family, friends and other members of the community. Though we work toward the final performance, much of the instructional time is spent on developing specific skills in each discipline. Developing talent into skill is our focus as we work daily

on many aspects of the three disciplines and work hard to ensure that each student is provided the opportunity to enhance their skills in a guided and nurturing way. Enrollment is limited to 38 participants per session.

NEW! Musical Theatre Two-Week Intensive Workshop, Grades 6-12

Are you tired of be-ing disappointed with the roles you’ve been cast in? Why not take advantage of our new workshop which will allow you to delve deeper into your craft and

enhance your performance skills? This program is specifically designed for those who desire a more advanced program without the pressure of full-scale production. The focus of this program is to build specific skills in acting, singing and dancing, with an emphasis on audition prepara-tion and stage presence to help you get the part you always wanted. At the completion of the workshop, students will be well prepared for upcoming auditions with two monologues, two songs, and an understanding of advanced dance techniques that will help them to confidently present themselves in future auditions and performance.
