A few highlights:

AbrickpathwayflankedbyantiqueurnsinvitesyouintoaformalentrancegardenthatcomplementsthisWilliams-burg-stylehome.Astatuesqueweepingcherrytreebeckonstotheprivatesanctu-arybeyond,downapathcarpetedwithgroundcoversmeanderingthroughacoverofmatureyew,rhododendronandhemlock.

Originallypartofa350-acrefarm,this5-acrepropertyhasevolvedintoaseriesofeightstunninggardensthatwindaroundthehouse,oldoutbuildingsandsilo.Thefrontgardenhasbeenknowntostoptraffic!

Inthis“overthetop”gardenyou’llbeluredpastawaterfall,overabridgeandintothefarreachesofthebackyard,whereyou’llfindaseriesofgardenrooms,eachwithnotabledisplaysofconi-fers,woodyornamentalsandperennialsartisticallycombinedfordramaticeffect.

Extensivestonework,asmallpond,collectedartifactsandeye-poppingplantcombinationsarepartofthemagicinthegardensofthisexpansiveproperty,ahavenforbirds,beesandbutterflies.

Tuckedawayona3-acresiteadjacenttoOakHillCountryClubinPittsford,this40-roomItalianRenaissancecountryhomewasbuiltin1925,andpurchasedin1936byHomerandMargaretWoodburyStrong.In1941,renownedlandscapearchitectFletcherSteeledesignedgardensaroundthehouse,oneofwhichhassur-vived.MostoftheFletcherSteeledesignwaseliminatedtomakewayforabuildingintendedtodisplayMargaret’sgrowingcollectionsofdolls,toysandhouseholdgoods,whichlaterbecamethebasisforRochester’sStrongMuseum.
