Richard Chronicle JUNE 2015 MARY MCDONALD BARRETT ,PRINCIPAL Dear Richard Families and Friends, Thank you for another wonderful school year! Once again, it has been a pleasure to work with such a fabulous staand such talented children. The enƟre Richard faculty and I have appreciated all of the parent input and all of the volunteers that have contributed so much Ɵme and energy toward the educaƟon of our students. The support from parents re- mains an important part of the success of the children. Working together, teachers and par- ents are able to encourage students to take on responsibility and work toward independ- ence. This is truly a learning community. The end of the school year is a Ɵme for reecƟon and a Ɵme for recogniƟon of growth and progress. From our kindergarteners, self-assuredly nding their way around the enƟre school building without any diculty, wriƟng leƩers and numbers legibly, solving math prob- lems, and learning to read, all the way up to our Ōh grade students who are ready to move on to middle school, we are so proud of their eorts and achievements. We hope that all of our students and families have a safe and resƞul summer. Remem- ber that children benet greatly from having assigned chores to do as part of the family and they benet from free Ɵme because they can nd plenty of opportuniƟes to explore, be cre- aƟve, play outside and socialize. Summer is also a great Ɵme to read for pleasure and we hope all of our children nd Ɵme each day to spend with a book. Have a wonderful summer! We look forward to seeing many happy, eager faces on September 9. Warmly, Mary MacDonaldBarreƩ See you in September!
