ENGLISH

1. Read the novel The Canterville Ghost and submit the write up of its summary and the

character sketch of: Virginia, Lord Canterville, Mr. and Ms. Otis. (Word limit 150 – 200

words)

2. Write your vision in about 250 words as a sensible, sensitive and optimistic young Indian.

3. Write an article on the topic “Brand Consciousness and Mindless Consumerism” .

4. a. Read at least two shorts reports in any English newspaper. Cut and paste them on your

note-book. On the basis of your reading of these reports, make notes on them in points only,

using headings and sub-headings.

b. Make a summary of these passages in not more than 80 words

and also suggest a suitable title.

5. Water is precious and each one of us must stop wastage. Design a poster in not more than

50 words urging people to employ various methods of rain water harvesting in their colonies.

6. In spite of the advancement in technology, luxuries and freedom, the new generation is a

worried lot. Write an article in about 100 words giving your views on this. You are

Kartik/Kritika.

7. Write a summary of three National and International events that have been featured in the

newspapers / news channels on television.

You may follow the given format:

a) Paste the newspaper clipping.b) Write a brief summary in your own words about the

issue. c) Write your comments/analysis / opinion about the matter.

ACCOUNTANCY ASSIGNMENT (To be done in register only)

The following questions are a part of Project Based Learning.

The Work has to be handwritten and done neatly with important points highlighted

1. Define Book keeping and Accountancy.

2. Qualitative characteristics are the attributes of Accounting Information which tend to

enhance its understandability and usefulness. In the light of this statement, briefly

explain any two such characteristics other than relevance. Identify which values related

to relevance are highlighted in qualitative information of accounting.

3. Name and briefly discuss the system of accounting which does not record two fold effects

of transaction.

4. What do you understand by window dressing in accounting? Also, identify any two

INVESTIGATORY PROJECT

1. Roll no. 1-5, 16-20, 31-35

Collect the source documents like receipts, bills, counter foils of bank

slips etc. and paste them in your project file.

Minimum five such documents have to be pasted (One sample for each document)

Write the problems that could arise if source documents are not maintained.(30 to 40

words)

2. Roll no. 6-10, 21-25, 36-40

Collection of source documents, preparation of vouchers, recording of transactions with the

help of vouchers.

3. Roll No. 11-15, 26-30, 41-48

Visit any bank and collect information about the type of accounts, schemes, pay-in-slip,

cheques, debit cards, locker facilities provided to customers etc.
