What are they made of?Rhino-Rack products are made of the highest quality, Australian produced materials.The legs are manufactured from UV stabilised glass reinforced nylon. The crossbars are extruded structural grade aluminium available in silver or black. All other components are stainless steel or have an anti-corrosive coating.
How much can they carry?This varies considerably from vehicle tovehicle, so always check the manufacturer’srecommended specifications. Gutter Mountlegs are rated to 100kg per pair ofcrossbars. Removable roof rack systems tosuit gutterless type vehicles are rated to75kg per pair of crossbars.While the Track Mount systems are rated to100kg per pair of crossbars, the capacityrestriction is relative to the roof of thevehicle not the roof racks.
Vehicles with no rain guttersRhino-Rack has a permanent Track Mountsystem which allows for adjustable barpositioning. The Rhino Fixed Mount systemis mounted in one set position and usedon vehicles with limited mounting area orload positions. We have also incorporatedMont Blanc’s range of fully removablegutterless style end supports into ourHeavy Duty range. So if your vehicle hasno gutters, it shouldn’t be a problem!

The RTRL adapter is the answer toattaching a guttermount leg to allRhino standard Track Mount systems.
Made from stainless steel, the RTRLoffers you a flexible and universalmounting system to suit all Rhinotracks. The RTRL lets you level all 3bars on a vehicle fitted with a canopyby utilising the different heightsavailable in our existing Rhino guttermount leg range and mounting theminto tracks on the vehicle cabin.
It is recommended that your load notbe secured rigidly to all 3 barsbecause of vehicle independantmovement between cab and tray.

Rhino-Rack have developed aspecifically designed canopy seal toalleviate the hard task of sealing thecanopy around the post on an angled surface.

Rhino-Rack ute and canopy systems can be customised tosuit varying floor pan profiles and cabin heights. The highquality structural aluminium ute post uprights can easily be cutto match an existing roof bar over the cabin. This systemincorporates Heavy Duty Rhino-Rack crossbars, enabling theuser to customise the system with the full range of Rhino-Rackaccessories. Utility uprights are available in several lengths,check with your authorised dealer to ensure correct uprightand crossbar specifications.
Canopy Rack SystemsThe bent canopy posts transfer the loaddirectly to the utility bed floor and are braced tothe side to give further support. The one pieceuprights protrude through the canopy roof andcan be adjusted to suit cabin bar heights. Rocksolid, well braced and practical in their designand function.
Bent uprights follow the profile of the vehicleallowing maximum payload space within the canopy.

The Rhino Boat Loader is designedto take the hard, back breaking workout of lifting car topper boats onto4WD's or other high roof stylevehicles. Unique for its single personoperation, the Rhino Boat Loader willgive years of boating pleasure.
How does it work?
a. Four ropes are attached to the boat, two at thestern and two approximately three quarters theway to the bow, via eye bolts fitted to the boat.
b. When the winch is turned, the rope coils onthe power roller and the boat in turn standsvertically at the rear of the vehicle OFF theground supported by the 2 transom ropes.
c. With the balance point of the boat being at/orbelow the very rear pivot roller, it is pulled overand then pulled forward to its final transportposition.
d. When unloading, it is the weight of the boatand the friction between the boat and the winchpower roller which winds the boat backwards.Gravity takes its course with the boat doingexactly the opposite to what occurred in theloading operation.
e. When on the ground, undo the quick releasesnap shackles on the end of all ropes and startfishing!Options and Extras needed?Customers needs and requirements all vary.
1. Most 4WDs have a 2" receiver hitch towbar.The use of the lower contact point “H” frame isrecommended to minimise damage to bumperbars or lower parts of the vehicles.
2. The Rhino commercial crossbars which theboatloader attaches to, must be 240mm widerthan the beam of the boat. If the boat width is1460mm, then 1700mm crossbars are required.

1. Will it fit my station wagon?No, the balance point of 10'-12' boats ( 3 to 3.5m ) will bemuch higher than the position of the rear pivot roller. So theboat will be too top heavy and tend to crash down on thevehicle when flipping and rotating over.
2. My spare wheel is mounted on the rear of thevehicle. Is it in the way?Will the boat loader work in this situation?Yes, on 4WD applications the boat makes contact with thelower contact point (bumper bar or usually the “H” frame)and ‘cups’ itself over the wheel. Narrow boatsmay require positioning the boatloader off slightly toone side.
3. What size boat can I carry?10-12'. ( 3 to 3.5m ) Maximum boat weight 80kg.
4. Can it load an inflatable boat?No, it is designed for aluminium boats and protrusions onthe gunnel will affect the on/off rolling ability for loading andunloading.
5. How many people are required to operate the boatloader?Just one.
6. Can I fit it to my current cage?Yes, with the addition of crossbars on top of an existingsecure structure the boat loader may be mountedon top.
7. I’ve got my boat, now can you tell me what sort ofvehicle will I need to carry it with?The long wheel based 4WDs are best. Toyota’s 80, 100series, Prado, Holden Jackaroo, Nissan Patrols and oldermodel Pajero’s. Where a track mount system needs to bemounted onto the roof, be careful of thin roofs and pot-holedhighways – with the load being directly transmitted to theroof. Note: 100 Series, Prado 2002 onwards and Jackarooshould use boats of 75kg max, and a maximum beam widthof 1500 mm due to the vehicle mounting points being so farin towards the centre of the vehicle.
8. What sort of boat is best?Aim for a boat with no gunwale protrusions, 10-12' long( 3 to 3.5 m ), not too wide as you must remember therequired roof crossbar width will be no less than 240mmwider than the beam of the boat. Keep the weight below80kg and you should be in business. Ask your marine dealerfor a boat which suits theabove requirements.

How does it work?
The basic principle is in dragging the boat up two ramps set at approx a 50 degree angle to the ground and over the top of the vehicle by means ofa 40/1 worm drive gear which turns the winding roller. Ropes are attachedto the far side of the boat and also 2 shorter gunnel ropes are attached tothe near side. When lifting commences, the boat is “flipped” over and thenslides up in the inverted position.
The unloading is opposite to the loading procedure...The worm gear is put into reverse mode and a short amount of slack isgenerated in the winding lines. With the boat resting on very slippery mainsupport bar, one hand is used to gently push the boat approx 100mm untilthe gunnel goes over the curve of the upper ramp. From then on gravitytakes over. Depending on the angle of the ramps, the boat may need someassistance in its final reverse flip back down to the ground if it does nothave the sufficient weight in the keel in relation to the boat angle. Continueunwinding the lifting lines and develop another say 400mm of slack. Thenby hand gently push the boat “over centre”. After this the boat will continuelowering by itself to its final resting position right way up on the ground.Detach the 4 x snap shackles and your in business.
The key requirement in loading and unloading is that the vehicle must beon level ground as the ramp structure and main support crossbars areextremely slippery. Should this not be the situation, the boat will slewaround somewhat and vehicle damage may result. A second person canalways be used in adverse conditions to stabilise and stop any forward orrear excessive slippage.
