• Led  team  of  four  in  design  of  polycarbonate  laptop  case  with  pull  out  work  surface.    • Specialized  in  design  for  manufacturing  and  failure  analysis  (both  analytical  and  using  Abaqus  FEA)

• Led  team  of  three  in  design  and  construction  of  a  self-­‐spotting  squat  rack.  • Carried  design  through  stages  of  ideation,  consumer  research,  analysis,  construction  and  testing.

• Developed  the  first  functional  prototype  of  a  handheld  portable  CNC-­‐router  (now  sold  as  the  Handibot™,  see  www.handibot.com).    

• Designed  and  built  jig  allowing  the  Handibot™  to  index  and  cut  large  materials  

UNC  Chapel  Hill  Vironomics  Core  –  Chapel  Hill,  NC                        6/11  –  9/11  Intern  Scientist    

• Developed  protocols  and  MATLAB  code  to  streamline  DNA  analysis  through  several  automated  systems  • Designed  mechanical  adapter  for  robotic  pipetting  system  that  saved  PI  ~$15,000
