INTRODUCTION
TRC Contracts are one of Britain’s largest and most experienced timber window restoration and replacement companies, who are also capable of undertaking complete external building restoration.
We operate nationwide and are able to offer solutions for the most complex and prestigious of projects. We have been trading for over 20 years and directly employ 50 skilled craftsmen.
Blackpool Tower & Ballrooms:TRC replaced the windows to the front elevation and restored the sides and rear.

THE COMPANY
TRC have worked on over 2,500 buildings and restored or replaced an estimated 135,000 timber windows. This unrivalled experience has allowed us to gain an enviable reputation within the market.

All our windows are manufactured in an ISO9001 registered factory and meet the performance requirements of BS6375 standard for wind resistance, weather-tightness, operation, strength and air-permeability. We also have a range of products tested to PAS 24 Secure by Design standard.

WOOLWICH BARRACKSThe original Woolwich Barracks was built in 1776 and was in constant use as the Royal Artillery Headquarters until the departure of 16 Regiment RA in July 2007. The history and lineage of this Grade II listed site in the Royal Borough of Greenwich plays a large part in its regeneration.
For the rear elevation we removed the existing 400 non-original aluminium sash windows and designed, supplied, and installed new timber sliding sash windows on spiral balances, bringing it more in keeping with the appearance of this prestigious buildng.
Our sash windows are tested to an extremely high rating, achieving an astonishing 2,400 Pascals for wind resistance, 600 Pascals for Air Permeability, and 300 Pascals for watertightness, all independently tested by a UCAS test centre.
The window we have had tested is a traditional sash window with weights and ropes, incorpo-rating individual ultra slim sealed units. This window also achieved an extremely high 36 dB sound rating and a 1.6 U value.

Our casement windows are tested to the highest air and water permeability, and are also PAS 24 Secure by Design standard tested.
Our windows are able to accept up to a 42mm sealed unit with a large variety of glass types achieving a U value as low as 0.72 for use in Passive Houses.

DRAUGHT-PROOFING
TRC supply draught -proofing products, methods and advice for improving the thermal performance of existing windows and doors.
Draught -proofing is one of the most cost-effective and least intrusive ways of improving the comfort of occupants and reducing energy used for heating with little or no change to a building’s appearance. It has the added benefit of helping to reduce noise and keeping out dust. Installing a perimeter sealing system in windows can reduce noise of between 6 – 10 dB (A).
Windows and doors can be a major source of heat loss. Less than a quarter of the heat lost through a typical traditional window escapes by conduction through the glass, the rest is by draughts. Research has shown draught-proofing can reduce air leakage in windows by as much as 50%, significantly reducing the energy requirement needed for heating.
TRC has verified the performance of our perimeter sealing system through independent testing to achieve BS 6375 Part 1: 2009.

ULTRA SLIM DOUBLE
GLAZED UNITS
TRC are specialists in the installation of ultra slim sealed units into existing windows. These greatly enhance the thermal and acoustic insulation properties as well as increasing security without compromising the look of the window.
ADVANTAGES• Comply with Building Regulations Document L England for improved thermal insulation.
• The smaller cavity, between the glasses, reduces the required glazing width rebates and enables slimmer sections to be used.
• The use of a Warm Edge spacer bar greatly improves the U value.
• Low-E (low-emissivity) glass used for the inner pane reflects heat back into the room.
• Slim double glazed units can be fitted into most existing single glazed openings.

RESIN REPAIRSTraditional pre-paint joinery repairs, such as splicing and filling are expensive, time consuming and frequently fail, leading to costly premature paint breakdown and further timber decay.
TRC achieve durable, permanent repairs, at a fraction of the cost of replacement, with products based on flexible epoxy resin. This allows large and small repairs, including complex moulded profiles, to be quickly and easily achieved.
Specially developed for the long-term maintenance of public, commercial, listed and domestic properties, the Repair Care system provides huge cost saving benefits, whilst providing a sustainable alternative to replacement. Paint durability is significantly improved, extending maintenance cycles and protecting against future decay.
The permanent repair of decayed or damaged timber has many advantages for the environment and also significantly reduces costs.

ROYAL CLARENCE MARINA
TRC completed the external window refurbishment of Royal Clarence Marina, a unique desirable Grade II listed building on a waterside heritage location transformed by Berkeley Homes into one of the South Coast’s most sought after developments.
Works included:
• Paint removal • Decoration • Timber repairs & splicing • Replace Ironmongery • Overhaul & draught exclusion • Brick repairs
Cliveden House is set in the heart of the Berkshire Countryside, surrounded by 376 acres of magnificent National Trust managed Grade 1 listed formal gardens and parkland.
CLIVEDEN HOUSE
TRC were employed by London & Regional Properties on a 2 year refurbishment programme working on this grand stately home.
TRC were appointed as Principal Contractor to carry out the sash window restoration whilst the hotel remained in occupation. We worked closely with the hotel management and architects to minimise disruption to the hotel guests, whilst maintaining a tight schedule of works to over 300 sash windows and doors. Additionally, we worked alongside the National Trust and ecologist to ensure important artefacts and bats were protected during the course of our works.
Works carried out to the sash windows included; paint removal, sash window repairs and splicing, overhaul and draught exclusion, glazing with historic handmade blown glass, decoration and bespoke ironmongery replacements and refurbishment to retain existing.
