    CHAPTER 4

    RESEARCH METHOLOGY

Research methodology is the way to systematically solve the research problem. In it we study the

various steps that are generally adopted by the researcher in studying his research problem along with

the logic behind them. The function of the research design is to provide for the collection of relevant

evidence with minimum expenditure of efforts, time and money.

    4.1 Data Sources

The task of the data collection of our research begins after the research problem has been defined.

There are two types of data viz, primary and secondary. The primary data are that which are collected

afresh and for the first time and does happen to be original in character. The secondary data on the

other hand, are those which have already been collected by someone else and which have already been

passed through the statistical process. In our study we adopt the primary data as well as the secondary

    data.

    4.2 Data Approach

The approach used in the research of Strengths and Weaknesses of I.F.T.M. is based on the primary

data ( questionnaire and interview) and secondary data for the literature review. Questionnaires are an

inexpensive way to gather data from a potentially large number of respondents. Often they are the only

feasible way to reach a number of reviewers large enough to allow statistically analysis of the results.

A well-designed questionnaire that is used effectively can gather information on both the overall

performance of the test system as well as information on specific components of the system. If the

  • 8/14/2019 Report - Strengths and Weakness of IFTM

    9/43

questionnaire includes demographic questions on the participants, they can be used to correlate

performance and satisfaction with the test system among different groups of users.

    4.3 Sampling Plan

    Sampling Unit: Students

    Sample Size: 50 (1.67% of 3000 students)

    Type of Sampling: Convinient Sampling

    4.4 Contact Method

The method used to conduct the survey is based on questionnaires so the contact method is to

approach students of different departments of I.F.T.M. directly.

    LIMITATIONS

The various limitations while conducting the research are:-

We dont get the ample amount of time to do the survey in the efficient manner.

Students were not taking the interest in filling the questionnaire, so we are lacking behind the facts and

    proper findings

The information filled by some of the students is not appropriate like their attendance and percentage.
