REPORT ON GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY

‘It’s not as elementary as it appears – hand washing is a careful process that must be done right’

To commemorate Global Handwashing Day and in order to sensitize the students on the techniques of proper hand washing, an enterprising team from ‘DETTOL’ conducted a workshop at ITL Public School on ‘Good Hand washing Techniques’ on Monday, 3 October 2016, in the school premises for the students of Classes VI – VIII.

The workshop started with a short briefing about the need to maintain proper hygiene followed by an informative video which clearly indicated that proper hand hygiene can significantly reduce the spread of harmful bacteria and other germs that can lead to diarrhoea, vomiting and other harmful infections. Students were asked questions about how they maintain hygiene in their daily life and the winners were presented a hand wash dispenser manufactured by Dettol Company Limited. Certificates were also given to the proud winners who secured 100 percent attendance in the previous session (2015-16)

The students participated very enthusiastically in the questionnaire session and requested for more such informative and enlightening workshops which helps in promoting a healthy life.
