ATyS SRemote operated motorised transfer switch
Changeover applications up to 125 A
2 ATyS S - SOCOMEC
Fully secure changeovers, for the long term
The ATyS S, a motorised changeover switch which utilises load break switch technology, ensures both continuity of the power supply and the safety of operators.Furthermore, the changeover technology – based on three stable positions – allows energy consumption to be minimised whilst guaranteeing maximum immunity to disruption to the electrical network. This allows the service life of this solution to be considerably extended.

Guaranteeing a continuous power supplyThe design and functions of the ATyS are all based around one key objective: to guarantee supply to the load. It has three operating modes, which increase the ability to select the most reliable source under all circumstances. In addition, the
ATyS S only needs power during transfer which further ensures its reliability and service life.
Guaranteeing user safetyThanks to its on load breaking capacity, combined with its three operating modes (Auto, Manual, Padlocked), the ATyS S is
simple to use and 100 % secure. The source is selected without risk directly on the product using the handle, or remotely via the dedicated contacts. The safety of technical interventions carried out on the electrical installation is also reinforced by the padlocked mode.

4 ATyS S - SOCOMEC
Benefits of the ATyS S range
Safe and reliable
• Extended service life prevents premature equipment failure through a stable position design that ensures to retain constant pressure on the switch contacts independent of the network voltage (this prevents welding of the contacts as well as operating coil failure).
• Protected downstream loads as there is no bounce and chatter effects commonly produced by contactor based TSE that need a constant supply to be held in the “ON” position (prevents damage to sensitive equipment).
• Secure power supply with 12 VDC or 24 / 48 VDC power supply models. This means the ATyS S can provide changeover switching in all circumstances as it is completely isolated from the mains voltage.
• Extensive power supply range (+ / - 30 %) by the AC power supply models to guarantee the service life of the solution, even in areas which suffer fluctuations in the mains power supply.
Easy to maintain
• Downtime minimised: the power section of the ATyS S is physically independent of the engine / control section to facilitate maintenance on load.
• No breaking of the load: the ATyS S remains operational and can be manoeuvred with its handle, including when the engine / control section is disassembled.
Fully integrated
• Guaranteed operation as the ATyS S is delivered factory assembled and tested by SOCOMEC (there is none of the risk or loss of time associated with assembling a kit made up of several separate parts).
• increased reliability in comparison to solutions assembled from separate components: the ATyS S complies with IEC 60947-6-1, the standard governing changeover switches.
• increased safety thanks to the mechanical interlocking mechanism which guarantees that the main and alternative sources are never selected simultaneously.
• Easy to order: one single reference for one complete solution.
Simple to use
• Three defined operating modes (Automatic, Manual and Padlocked) which can be selected very easily using an accessible, ergonomic handle.
• Simple, secure emergency operation, designed to be switched with confidence by the majority of users.
Cost Effective
• Low energy consumption thanks to the changeover based on stable positions: energy is only consumed during transfer.
• Reduced footprint enabling the ATyS S to be installed in any enclosure with a minimum depth of 200 mm.
• Simple and quick to install: secured at just four points, with three connectors to cable up and the power cables to connect.
• Shorter bridging bars which are more economical than competitor solutions.
In accordance with IEC 60947‑6‑1 and GB 14048-11, standards designed for automatic transfer switching equipment:• AC 32B - 415 VAC: up to 80 A• AC 31B - 415 VAC: up to 125 A
in accordance with iEC 60947-3, standard designed for switch-disconnectors:• AC 23A - 415 VAC: up to 63 A• AC 22A - 415 VAC: up to 100 A• AC 21B - 415 VAC: up to 125 A
Utilisation categories
Combining two switches “back-to-back”, the ATyS S offers huge space savings in terms of width as compared to a “side-by-side” solution. They are suitable for practically all enclosures with a depth of 200 mm or more.

• Pulse logic • Contactor logic
The ATyS S is stabilised in a position after having received a pulse (command) lasting longer than 60 ms.Commands I and II have priority over command 0.
The ATyS S is stabilised in a position (I or II) while the position order is maintained and returns to position 0 when this disappears.
Three operating modes• AUTOMATIC modeIn this mode, the changeover is controlled remotely via contacts 314 to 317 and it is not possible to use the manual operation handle.
• MANUAL modeIdeal in the event of an emergency, this mode prevents remote operation and maintains the performance of the transfer switch.
• PADLOCKED modeIn this mode, automatic and manual changeovers are disabled to ensure maximum security for maintenance operations. This is only available in position 0.It also allows up to three standard 8 mm padlocks to be added to facilitate electrical lockout (NFC 18-510).

• Fully integrated auxiliary contacts
Supplied as standard with the ATyS S, this terminal provides three auxiliary contacts with three independent common points so that more options are possible:• remote position indication,• connection to an external control
circuit, etc.
• Dual power supply (DPS)
• The ATyS Sd model includes a dual control power supply (DPS) rated at 230 VAC + /- 30 % providing redundant control power to the motorisation module. (Two separate supplies). This added functionality is fully integrated within the same compact product.
• The dual power supply can accept fluctuations of + /- 30 %, important for zones which suffer large disruptions to the mains.
• The ATyS S is fitted with an interface compatible with virtually all brands of generator equipped with an automatic mains power loss management device (e.g. similar to ATyS C30 or C40) or an external generator controller.
• SOCOMEC designs and manufactures changeover solutions in custom enclosures (with or without integrated controllers) to meet all of the specific requirements of its customers.
• Enclosed solutions

7SOCOMEC - ATyS S
ATyS range: three ranges of motorised transfer switches for a solution adapted to your application
More than 400,000 SOCOMEC motorised transfer switches have been in operation since 1990. Place your trust in a family recognised by the key global players.
Terms:• RTSE (Remote operated Transfer
Switching Equipment),• ATSE (Automatic Transfer Switching
Equipment).
ATSE differ from RTSE in that they integrate an automatic device. This means that the products themselves monitor the availability of sources, start the generators if necessary and automatically switch to the available source.
RTSEs require the presence of an external automatic device which provides the changeover commands.
