    Exercise 1Using New Outlook Web Access Calendar Features

    ScenarioIn this exercise, you will use the new Outlook Web Access calendar features to: Create and move appointments. Use advanced calendar functionality to determine the best time to schedule a meeting with multiple attendees

    and resources.

    Configure the Out of Office Assistant from Outlook Web Access.Northwind Traders requires many of its employees to check their e-mail and calendar information over the Internet

    from computers on client sites. As the companys Exchange administrator, you implement Outlook Web Access to

    address this need.

    Spencer Low, the companys Vice President, wants to schedule a meeting with the rest of the management team.

    She uses the suggested times feature of Outlook Web Access to determine the optimal time for the meeting. Shealso configures the Out of Office Assistant in Outlook Web Access to send messages notifying senders when she is

    away from the office.

    Tasks Detailed Steps

    Complete the following3 tasks on:

    1. Move appointmentsin Outlook Web

    a. On the SMBEX01 virtual server, clickStart, clickAll Programs,and then clickInternet Explorer.

    c. Log on to Outlook Web Access as nwtraders\spencer with a password ofP@ssw0rd

    In Outlook Web Access, clickOK.e. In the left pane, clickCalendar.f. In the Calendar, clickWork Week to switch to the Work Week view.g. In the numerical calendar on the left, click a date in the next week.h. In the Work Week view, double-click the intersection ofTuesday and 9:00AM to

    ScenarioIn this exercise, you will use the new features of Outlook Web Access to access Microsoft SharePoint documents

    Northwind Traders has a number of SharePoint servers installed internally. In the past, the companys IT

    Department had to configure remote access server (RAS)/virtual private network (VPN) access to these documents.

    Spencer Low wants to investigate the new features of Outlook Web Access that provide external access to internal

    SharePoint documents without RAS/VPN.

    Tasks Detailed Steps

    Complete the followingtask on:

    1. Configure ExchangeServer 2007 to allow

    a. In Outlook Web Access running as Spencer Low, in the bottom-left pane, clickDocuments.

    b. In the left pane, clickOpen Location.c. In Open Location, type http://client01.nwtraders.com and then clickOpen.Note: The WSS site will not open. This is intentional

    d. Read the Location External dialog box stating that the folder cannot be shown inOutlook Web Access and then clickOK to close it.

    e. In the Open Location dialog box, clickX to close the dialog box.f. Switch to the Exchange Management Console. If it is not already running, click

    Start, clickAllPrograms, clickMicrosoftExchange Server 2007, and then click

    ExchangeManagementConsole.

    g. In the Exchange Management Console, expand Server Configuration, clickClient Access, and then wait for the Result Pane to populate.

    h. In the Result Pane, clickowa (Default Web Site) and then in the Action Pane,clickProperties.

    i. In owa (Default Web Site) Properties dialog, click the Remote File Servers tab.j. On the Remote File Servers tab, clickConfigure.k. In the Internal Domain Suffix List field, type nwtraders.com and then clickAdd

    and clickOK.

    l. ClickOK to close owa (Default Web Site) Properties.m.Switch to Outlook Web Access running as Spencer Low, and then in the

    p. Right-clickProject X and then clickOpen.q. ClickAdd to Favorites and notice how Project X now appears in the Favorites

    list. ClickOK.

    ScenarioIn this exercise, you will administer Outlook Web Access features as follows:

    Use the Exchange Management Shell to enable/disable features of Outlook Web Access. Turn on Forms-Based Authentication. Configure Exchange Server 2007 to provide features differently for Public and Private access to Outlook Web

    Access.

    Spencer Low wants to investigate how Outlook Web Access features may be managed by the companys IT team.

    She also wants to determine which features may be enabled and disabled.

    Tasks Detailed Steps

    Complete the following2 tasks on:

    1. Enable Forms-BasedAuthentication for

    Outlook Web Access

    a. Switch to the Exchange Management Console. If it is not already running, clickStart, clickAllPrograms, clickMicrosoftExchange Server 2007, and then click

    ExchangeManagementConsole.

    b. In the Exchange Management Console, expand Server Configuration, clickClient Access, and then wait for the Result Pane to populate.

    c. In the Result Pane, clickowa, and then in the Action Pane, clickProperties.d. In the owaProperties dialog box, click the Authentication tab.e. On the Authentication tab, select Use forms based authentication, select User

    name only, and then click the Browse button and select nwtraders.com and then

    clickOK.

    f. ClickOK in the owa properties window.g. In the Microsoft Exchange Warning dialog box, read the instructions for

    resetting Internet Information Services (IIS) and then clickOK.

    h. ClickStart, clickCommand Prompt, and then wait for the command prompt toopen.

    i. At the command prompt, type iisreset /noforce and then press ENTER. Wait forthe services to restart and then close the command prompt.

    j. ClickStart, clickAll Programs,and then clickInternet Explorer.k. In Internet Explorer, in the Address bar, type

    http://SMBEX01.nwtraders.com/OWA and then press ENTER.

    l. Notice the new Forms-Based Authentication dialog box that appears. ClickThis isa private computer.

    m.In the User Name field, type spencer and then in the Password field, typeP@ssw0rd and then clickLog On.n. ClickLog Offto log off Spencer from the Outlook Web Access session.

    2. Manage OutlookWeb Access settings

    Note:Notice that the Documents button now appears because you have logged on

    while selecting the Private Computer option.

    dd.Log off Spencer Low Outlook Web Access and close all windows andapplications.

    Exercise 5Using Mobile Devices with Exchange Server 2007

    ScenarioIn this exercise, you will use a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 device to synchronize e-mail data with ExchangeServer 2007. You will also remotely wipe your own Windows Mobile 5.0 device from Outlook Web Access.

    Spencer Low, the Vice President of Northwind Traders, wants to use her new Windows Mobile 5.0 device to read

    and send e-mail while out of the office. You configure her Windows Mobile device to synchronize directly with the

    Exchange server by using Exchange Direct Push Technology. When Spencer loses her device in a restaurant, you

    instruct her to connect to Outlook Web Access and wipe the device remotely for security purposes.

    Tasks Detailed Steps

    Complete the following

    synchronize with

    Exchange

    a. On SMBEX01, clickStart, clickAll Programs, clickMicrosoft DeviceEmulator Preview, and then clickDevice Emulator Manager.

    b.

    In the Device Emulator Manager, clickFile, clickRestore Image, navigate to thefolder c:\program files\microsoft\device emulator preview, select the

    pocketpc.dess file, and then clickOpen.

    c. At the Device Emulator prompt asking you to enable the network card, clickYes.d. On the Pocket PC Emulator, click the Start icon , clickPrograms, and then

    clickActiveSync.

    e. Read the ActiveSync screen information and then click the set up your device tosync with it link.

    f. In the Server Address box, type SMBEX01.nwtraders.comg. Clear the This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection check box.h. In the Security warning message, clickOK, and then clickNext.Note: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption should always be used with ActiveSync.

    However, for the purposes of this lab, you will not be using an SSL connection.

    i. In the User name text box, type Spencerj. In the Password text box, type P@ssw0rdk. In the Domain text box, type Nwtradersl. Select the Save password check box, and then clickNext.m.On the Advanced screen, clickNext.n. In the Choose the data you wish to synchronize box, clickCalendar, and then

    clickSettings.

    o. In the Synchronize only the past drop-down list box, select All, and then in theupper-right corner, clickOK.

    p. In the Choose the data you wish to synchronize box, clickE-Mail, and thenclickSettings.

    q. In the Include the previous drop-down list box, select All, and then in the upper-right corner, clickOK.

    r. Confirm that the four check boxes are selected, and then clickFinish.Note: Wait for ActiveSync to synchronize with the Exchange server. Watch as

    Contacts, Calendar, Email, and Tasks are synchronized from the Exchange server to

    the device. This may take several minutes in this emulator environment.

    2. Test Direct PushTechnology

    a. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then in the Address field, typehttp://SMBEX01.nwtraders.com/owa and then clickGo.

    b. In the User name box, type nwtraders\peter and then in the Password box, typeP@ssw0rd and then clickLogon.

    c. If prompted, in Outlook Web Access, clickOK.d. ClickNew, and then in the To field, type Spencer and then pressCTRL+K to

    resolve the name.

    e. In the Subject line, type IMPORTANT: New information regardingprospective factory in Seoul

    f. In the message body, type Contoso Inc. are willing to invest in our new Seoulfactoryg. Click the Importance: High button (the red exclamation mark) and then click

    Send.

    h. Quickly switch to the Pocket PC Emulator.Note:Notice the animated Synchronization arrows indicating that the device is

    automatically synchronizing, triggered by the arrival of a message in Spencers

    mailbox.

    Note: Wait for the Pocket PC device to complete synchronization.

    i. At the bottom of the Today screen, view the notification stating that a newmessage has arrived from Spencer. ClickView and read the message.

    j. You want to add Peter to your contacts. ClickPeter Houston in the mail item, andthen in the messaging dialog box, clickYes to add Peter to your contacts. Click

    OK to close the Contacts window and return to the e-mail message.

    k. ClickReply at the bottom of the message window.l. In the message body, type Excellent please start the legal paperwork and then

    clickSend.

    Note:Note the animated Synchronization arrows again indicating that the device is

    automatically synchronizing to send the message.

    m.In Outlook Web Access running as Peter, clickCheck Messages or press F5 torefresh the screen, and then confirm that the message from Spencer was received.

    n. In Outlook Web Access running as Peter, clickCalendar, and then clickNew.o. ClickInvite Attendees, and then in the Required field, type Spencerp. Change the start time of the appointment to be 1 hour from now.q. In the Subject line, type Management Meeting and then in the message body,

    type Meeting to discuss opening factory in Seoul

    r. ClickSend and then clickOK.s. Switch to the Pocket PC Emulator.Note: Wait for the device to synchronize.

    t. If it is not already open, open the devices Inbox. After the Inbox is in sync, clickthe meeting request at the top of the message list.

    x. Wait for synchronization to complete, and then switch to Peters Outlook WebAccess.y. ClickMail in the left pane, clickCheck for New Messages, and then verify that

    the meeting request was accepted.

    z. Switch to the Pocket PC Emulator.aa.ClickStart, clickPrograms, and then clickTasks.bb.At the bottom of the Tasks screen, clickNew.cc.In the taskSubject line, type Request auditors reportdd.In the Priority drop-down list box, select High.ee.In the Starts: drop-down list box, select todays date.Note: The default date is today.

    ff. ClickOK and note that the task is being synchronized. Wait for synchronization tocomplete.

    gg.On the Pocket PC Emulator, clickStart, and then clickContacts.hh.ClickHouston, Peter, and then view the contact information.ii. ClickOK, and then click the X in the upper-right corner to close Contacts.

    3. Remotely wipe amobile device from

    Outlook Web Access

    a. Open Internet Explorer.b. In Internet Explorer, in the Address bar, type

    http://SMBEX01.nwtraders.com/OWA and then press ENTER.

    c. Log on to Outlook Web Access as nwtraders\spencer with a password ofP@ssw0rd

    d. At the top of the page, clickOptions.e. In the left pane, in the Options list, clickMobile Devices.f. Select the device in the device list, and then clickWipe All Data from Device.g. ClickOK to confirm that you want to wipe all data from your device.h. Switch to the Device Emulator.i. Click the Start icon , clickActiveSync, and then clickSync.

    j. ClickOK to accept the policy notification.Note: The device will now be wiped.

    Note:Note that normally the synchronization and wipe would occur automatically and

    the steps above would not be required.

    k. Close the Device Emulator without saving state.l. Close Outlook Web Access.m.ClickFile | Exit and then Yes to exit from Device Emulator Manager.
