The council is seeking to build 45 new homes on vacant land and garages on Remington Road and Pulford Road adjacent the railway.

The new homes will comprise 31 apartments in a six-storey building on the corner of Remington Road and Pulford Road and 14 townhouses and maisonettes along the railway boundary to the rear.

The development will provide new on-street parking, refuse/recycling and cycle storage and additional refuse/recycling facilities for existing residents on Remington Road.

The proposals will incorporate comprehensive public realm and landscaping improvements including a children’s play area to enhance the setting of the new development and the quality and appearance of the local environment.

Seven Sisters has a distinct architectural character defined by its terraced housing, apartments blocks, warehouses and individual period buildings.

The proposed development has been carefully designed having regard to the character of the local area and incorporates some of the architectural features present in a contemporary way. These include window styles and patterns, brick detailing, stonework banding, front walls and railings.

ParkingThe existing 20 garages on the site will be removed. All existing street parking spaces will be retained.

The scheme will provide eight new street parking spaces including four wheelchair accessible spaces.

A parking survey is being undertaken to ensure the impact on parking in the local area is fully considered.

SustainabilityHaringey Council is committed to ensuring that new homes will be environmentally sustainable, with a target of achieving zero carbon energy emissions where possible.

The proposed development will have high levels of insulation and incorporate other features such as energy efficient heating and solar roof panels that will keep running costs low. It will be constructed with responsibly sourced and environmentally friendly materials.
