You will receive: GCE ‘O’ Level results slip GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate CCA Certificate JAE Form A which contains the JAE PIN, the

examination results and the course codes forall the courses that the student is eligible toapply for under JAE

JOINT ADMISSION EXERCISE - JAE

JAE is a centralised posting exercise conductedannually by MOE for holders of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level certificate to apply foradmission to courses offered by Junior Colleges (JC),Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics and the Instituteof Technical Education (ITE).

Please refer to the JAE information booklet for moredetails pertaining to the exercise. The information isalso available on the JAE website at:

www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/jae.

JAE - REGISTRATION

The JAE Registration period :3pm, 13 Jan (Mon) to 4pm, 17 Jan (Fri)

Registration for courses under the JAE should besubmitted through the JAE-Internet System (JAE-IS)using the JAE PIN found in Form A.

All Applicants should: Complete the Worksheet before accessing the JAE-IS to submit your

application. Make full use of the 12 choices, where applicable. Print and retain a copy of the Verification Slip for your record after

you have submitted your application online.

JAE – APPLICATION RESULTS

The posting results are scheduled to be released onTuesday, 4 February 2020 through:

a) JAE-Internet System (JAE-IS)b) SMS to the Singapore mobile number provided by the applicant

during registration

Applicants posted to JCs and MI are to report to theirposted institutions on Wednesday, 5 February 2020.

Applicants posted to polytechnics and ITE will receivea letter from their respective institutions on theenrolment details in due course.

JAE - DIRECT SCHOOL ADMISSION TO JUNIOR COLLEGES

Students who had accepted offers through the 2019 DirectSchool Admission – Junior Colleges (DSA-JC) Exercise will beadmitted to their chosen JC if they have met the eligibilitycriteria for admission based on their GCE O-Levelexamination results.

Students admitted to a JC through DSA-JC will not beeligible to participate in the JAE.

Students who do not meet the JC admission criteria maytake part in the JAE to apply for courses which they areeligible for. More details on DSA-JC can be found at

JAE - EARLY ADMISSION EXERCISE TO POLYTECHNICS

Students who had accepted conditional offers to a polytechniccourse through the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) in 2019 andhave their offers confirmed based on their GCE O-Levelexamination results will not be eligible to participate in the JAE.

Their EAE offers are confirmed if they meet the followingcriteria: Net ELR2B2* score of 26 points or better for the GCE O-Level

examinations Minimum Entry Requirements for the respective polytechnic course

Students who do not meet the above criteria may take part inthe JAE.

*The ELR2B2 aggregate comprises English Language, 2 relevant subjects forthe polytechnic course applied for and 2 other best subjects which could beelective subjects.

PROGRESSION PATHWAYS FOR SEC 4 NA STUDENTS

Sec 4 NA students who have sat for O-Level subjects in2019 can use their O-Level results for these subjects toapply for a place in the Polytechnic FoundationProgramme (PFP) and Direct-Entry-Scheme to PolytechnicProgramme (DPP).

From 2019, students are eligible to apply for the PFP ifthey have obtained a raw ELMAB3 aggregate notexceeding 12 points, and met subject-specificrequirements for their chosen course.

POLYTECHNIC FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (PFP)

PFP-eligible students will receive a copy of Form P whichcontains a unique password for application online via the PFPwebsite at https://pfp.polytechnic.edu.sg/PFP/index.html

Applications for the PFP is from2pm, 13 Jan (Mon) to 4pm, 17 Jan (Fri)

The PFP posting results will be released at 2.00pm on Tuesday,21 January 2020 through the PFP website.

Students will be required to indicate whether they wish toaccept, reject, or appeal for a change of course by 4.00pm onThursday, 23 January 2020.

DIRECT-ENTRY-SCHEME TO POLYTECHNIC PROGRAMME (DPP)

The DPP prepares students for progression into selectedpolytechnic diploma courses via a two-year Higher Nitec courseat ITE. Students are eligible to apply if they have obtained a rawELMAB3@ aggregate not exceeding 19 points and met thesubject-specific requirements for their chosen course.

Secondary 4 N(A) students who are newly eligible after takinginto account their O-Level examination results should submittheir DPP applications online via the DPP application portal at:

http://www.ite.edu.sg/wps/portal/intake/.

@The raw ELMAB3 aggregate comprises English Language, Mathematics, andthe student’s three other best subjects, and excludes CCA bonus points. CCAbonus points will be taken into account during posting.

DIRECT-ENTRY-SCHEME TO POLYTECHNIC PROGRAMME (DPP)

The final application phase for the Direct-Entry-Scheme toPolytechnic Programme (DPP) is from

13 Jan 2020 (Mon) to 17 Jan 2020 (Fri)

The DPP posting results for applications made under the finalapplication phase will be released at 9.00am on Tuesday, 21January 2020 through the DPP application portal.

Students will be required to indicate whether they wish toaccept or reject the DPP offer by Thursday, 23 January 2020.

FOR SUCCESSFUL PFP AND/OR DPP APPLICANTS

Students who have been offered a place in the DPP under the finalapplication phase should report to ITE on Thursday, 23 January 2020,upon acceptance of their DPP course offer.

The last day of school for Secondary 5 students who have accepted aplace in the PFP will be on Friday, 24 January 2020.

Students will be informed by the respective polytechnics on theenrolment dates for the PFP.

Students who accepted a place in the earlier application phase of theDPP in December but have now decided to take up a PFP offer willneed to apply to ITE to withdraw from the DPP first, before they areable to take up the PFP offer.

RE-ADMISSION OF 2019 GCE O-LEVEL STUDENTS

Sec 4E and Sec 5N students are allowed to repeat the O-LevelExamination only if they satisfy ALL the criteria below:

Obtained no more than 2 GCE O-Level passes and an aggregateof 44 points or less in 5 subjects (excluding CCA bonus points),or obtained 3 or more GCE O-Level passes but do not qualify foradmission to Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute or Polytechnics

Not more than 4 years overage for Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents

Not more than 2 years overage for International Students Attempted GCE O-Level examination for the first time in 2019

(exclude 5NA students taking ‘O’ level subjects while in Sec4NA)

RE-ADMISSION OF 2019 GCE O-LEVEL STUDENTS

Must register and sit for same subjects taken in 2018 (minimum 5 subjects)

Submit application form to Mrs Wong (Year Head, UpperSecondary), within 5 working days after release of resultsor 5 working days after release of JAE posting results

Applicants will only be re-admitted upon Principal’s approval.
