REGULAR VERBS:
“SOME RULES”
All regular verbs add “ed” in Simple Past Tense.
He played football last Sunday.
He cooked lunchlast week.
When a regular verb ends in a consonant + “y”,
the “y” is changed to “ied”
He dried the dishes after dinner.
When a regular verb has one syllable and ends in
consonat + vowel + consonant,the final consonant is doubled before adding “ed” to form the
simple past tense.(Exceptions: verbs that end in
“w” or “x”)
He jogged yesterday morning.
